Between this and Ann Coulture I have to wonder why all the most deserving targets are missed.

Though that second one, I would have to get a second opinion, but it looked like it glanced off his arm. Considering the audacity of the act, I'd count that as a hit.

futurebot - 2008-12-14

Hey, Perino got a black eye out of it! I'd say this man outdid himself.

Cleaner82 - 2008-12-14

Oh, I missed that! Someone send the man an ipod.

RomancingTrain - 2008-12-15

I blame Hinkley, the previous 11 presidents elected in a year ending in 0 died in office then that goober had to miss Reagan.

Syd Midnight - 2008-12-15

He hit Reagan, but used a pussy .22 that couldn't even kill an old man with a lung shot. When Squeaky Fromme went after Ford, she used an M1911. Now that's a psycho who knows her job.

Camonk - 2008-12-14

Yeah cause he's really gonna be sippin' martinis and watching girls in bikinis in Abu Ghraib.

Cleaner82 - 2008-12-14

His only hope is they don't manage to put a bullet in his head before January on account of red tape.

Randroid - 2008-12-14

It's not too late to whisk him away on a CIA torture cruise.

buttnutt - 2008-12-14

This is why Cena Mark voted for McCain.

IrishWhiskey - 2008-12-14

That reporter's very, very, very lucky he didn't get shot.

Still, compared to what soldiers have to go through, Bush got off easy on his Iraq trip once again.

simon666 - 2008-12-14

Seems the US SS was caught a little flat footed on this one.

baleen - 2008-12-14

TRULY BIZARRE that a man abducted by Shiite militiamen funded by the Bush administration would be a little angry.

chumbucket - 2008-12-14

so remaining press conferences for the year will be shoeless

Goethe and ernie - 2008-12-14

Why on earth would an Iraqi have any problem with Bush

DMKA - 2008-12-15

kekekekekekekekekekeke

sosage - 2008-12-14

WTF with the Saddam comment.

Monchiles Monchiles - 2008-12-14

I didn't get that either. What the hell was he trying to say?

revdrew - 2008-12-14

THANK GOD WE GOT IN THERE AND TOOK OUT SADDAM'S REGIME, OTHERWISE HE'D BE GETTING TORTURED AND EXECUTED RIGHT NOW.

Oh, wait a minute...

Cleaner82 - 2008-12-14

They were trying to say that in America you have the FREEDOM to throw shoes at your leaders, whereas in Old Iraq Saddam would have summarily executed the shoe-marksman.

Though paradoxically, this was only really possible in Iraq. In America it never would have happened, or would have resulted in the death of the ballistic footwear sniper.

Caminante Nocturno - 2008-12-14

We can only imagine how many of that man's friends and family would still be alive or not missing under Saddam's regime.

baleen - 2008-12-14

He's not Iraqi, he's Egyptian. So pretty much he was abducted by people who are our current "friends." Bush enjoys saying that he didn't take the "easy way out" by putting another Saddam in power, instead, he just funds people who are as nasty and oppressive as Saddam, and sprinkles the love around in exchange for cease fires.

Truly an evil man.

Syd Midnight - 2008-12-15

In some dusty grave somewhere, with a slight crackling noise, Saddam's corpse's face just contorted into a grin. I SUPPOSE HE COULD HAVE PUT A NOOSE AROUND BUSH AND KILLED HIM BUT THOSE SHOE NEAR MISSES WILL DO.

chairsforcheap - 2008-12-15

that would be a 5 for Syd's comment.

KnowFuture - 2008-12-14

Only on Fox News would George W. Bush being almost hit by a flying shoe be considered an "Alert". Isn't every news item on there a "News Alert!" though?

KnowFuture - 2008-12-14

Oh, also---if Bush were cool at all he might have pulled a "YOU MISSED ME BITCH"

Hooker - 2008-12-14

It would happen on all 24 Hour News channels. I hate FOX the most, but let's call a spade a spade here.

Jeff Fries - 2008-12-14

I like how he congratulates him on dodging the shoes then boasts of his unimpressive shoe size.

racetraitor - 2008-12-14

Let's give Bush some credit. It WAS a pretty good dodge.

heyitslozeau - 2008-12-15

I have a feeling he's dodged some shoes in his day.

kamlem - 2008-12-15

If only Monica Lewinski was as good at dodging...

Rudy - 2008-12-15

I KNOW!

If only she was as good at dodging... blowjobs like Bush dodges shoes or...

If only Clinton could dodge Monica like Bush...

If only Linda Tripp... OK what the fuck are you talking about?

TeenerTot - 2008-12-15

i think he was referring to "dodging" the aquisition of that incriminating dress stain.

mouser - 2008-12-14

Missed?

He got the US flag twice.

Toenails - 2008-12-14

Okay, uh where were the Secret Service throughout this ordeal? That could have been a shoe-bomb that we heard so much about a few years ago.

This and Sarah Palin's church "mysteriously" ablaze, well I guess it ain't a good day for Republicans, huh?

heyitslozeau - 2008-12-14

how did bush not assume there were bombs in the shoes?

StanleyPain - 2008-12-14

If you watch the slow-mo, Bush is smiling his ass off after the first shoe.

oddeye - 2008-12-14

I don't agree with the war or like Bush, nor am I an American but if I was I would be fuming mad.

Perhaps I am being a tad over bearing but I would consider a physical attack on my elected leader as an attack on myself and grounds for termination.

How dare some pissant fucker throw shoes at the president, he should have his eyes plucked out, his hands amputated and his nose power-sanded from his face.

simon666 - 2008-12-14

Where ARE you from?

oddeye - 2008-12-14

Does that matter?

simon666 - 2008-12-14

It matters enough for you to define where you are from through negative definition, and enough for you to be hesitant to mention it.

But really I was curious to know if my intuition was right based on your phrasing and word choices.

oddeye - 2008-12-14

I'll bite. I am born in the third-world but raised in the UK. Do tell if you were right!

mr666 - 2008-12-14

Honestly, Bush had it coming.

simon666 - 2008-12-14

I thought the UK because of your use of the words "a tad over" and "pissant." =]

Toenails - 2008-12-14

Don't let poetv be an accurate depiction of American attitudes, oddeye.

Most of us here (at least the folks commenting on this video) don't consider Bush our elected leader, nor do we harbor such nationalistic notions as "...[having] his eyes plucked out, his hands amputated and his nose power-sanded from his face" for somebody that threw a shoe at the president. The whole shoe-insult thing goes right over our head anyways (pun unintended), so we couldn't really give two fucks about that in the first place. It would seriously be like a Brit traveling to Alabama, giving somebody the two-fingered salute, and shouting "yob" or other such nonsense.

Oh, and the term "Third-World" is an American-coined dig at the countries that weren't part of the Cold War. You see, back in the 50s, America and all her allies were the "First-World", The evil Soviets and their ilk were dubbed the "Second-World", and everybody that didn't matter were the "Third-World". The latter was the only term that survived to this day, and is generally regarded by Americans as some country being a filthy backward shithole. You might want to use the "Developing Country" or "Pre-industrial" terminology instead.

revdrew - 2008-12-15

I can honestly say that, as an America, I entirely do not mind if someone throws their shoes at our president, as long as said president is a complete cunt.

oddeye - 2008-12-15

I think I get where you are coming from. To you this might be like throwing eggs or a custard-pie or something silly like that rather then pretty much the worst insult possible that this act is to me.

Still, it's nothing a bullet in the skull wouldn't resolve.

voodoo_pork - 2008-12-15

The only thing Bush should be trying to dodge now is bullets.

commandocucumber - 2009-01-04

if he tries to dodge bullets like Neo in the first matrix, then his attacker should run up and kick him in the crotch.

MightierThanTheSword - 2009-04-16

Hey, we live in a free nation. It's okay to want to throw shoes at people.

The amusing part is, if he had been in America thrown a shoe at the regular guy, he probably would have just gotten the finger and nobody would even be thinking on it tomorrow.

Does anybody else remember when it was on the news that ol' W choked on a PRETZEL?

Aplsos - 2008-12-14

LIBERAL MEDIA

Shotgun Jackson - 2008-12-14

My most favorite video of all time. Who doesn't want to throw a shoe at that Bush guy. Am I right?

Ursa_minor - 2008-12-14

Sometimes there just aren't enough shoes.

Syd Midnight - 2008-12-15

This is how I'll always remember him. Nixon and his crook, Carter and his rabbit, Clinton and his blowjob... I will always remember Dubbya ducking a shoe.

May Allah, Blessed be His name, bless you reporter guy. Twice.

GiantAtomicFreak - 2008-12-15

Hey guys, apparently in the Middle East shoe throwing is a great insult and not a congratulatory gesture as it is here in the west.

Hooper_X - 2008-12-15

I gotta give Bush credit, he dodged the hell out of that first one. I guess he's got good reflexes from clearing all that brush.

badideasinaction - 2008-12-17

Bush has been ducking responsibilities for decades now, he's got plenty of practice.

HarveyTibbar - 2008-12-15

I like how they deem his dodge worthy of infinite loop replay. The only thing that would make it better is if they were able to alternate to different angles on each take.

Also, cut the Frat-President a little slack. The man owned a Baseball team and partied with his Frat-Boy friends for most of his life.

From that standard, he's not doing horrible. Too bad presidents aren't judged on that standard tho.

Infamous - 2008-12-15

This is an internet meme in the making.

badideasinaction - 2008-12-17

Five stars, because this may be one of Bush's most lasting images, and that seems rather fitting.

j lzrd / swift idiot - 2009-10-07

How did I miss rating this?

Also, I like the internet meme remix with all the different things being thrown at Bush, Bush throwing things back, etc etc. I'm kinda easily amused that way.
