For some reason, when they show these on cable, it's usually someone else doing the same narration. For Blue Planet, it's Pierce Brosnon. For Planet Earth, it's Sigourney Weaver. It could be a licensing thing with the BBC or with Sir David. I agree, it kind of takes something away.

Happily, the Planet Earth DVDs all have Attenborough narration. I mean, Sigourney Weaver's all right, but Sir David she ain't.
