There is a marked difference between the humor back then and now, too. For example, back then they had to actually write their own jokes, rather than having them handed to them by the President and the ridiculous mainstream media.
Good luck getting him to just tell the jokes like he is in that video (without following each joke with a comment about the audience or the joke itself).
I think it's a lot smoother they way he does it now but I hadn't realized how much it happens compared to the old days.
I started watching Daily Show with Kilborn and thought John Stewart was horrible when he first started (he was). Obviously the show has changed to a much larger scope than lampooning headlines and doing offbeat interviews with Beth Littleford.
