That was actually rather well done,at least in making it look genuinely old.

Lurchi - 2009-01-22

+1 for VHS artifacts.

zatojones - 2009-01-22

-1 for shitty actors in the "man on the street" interviews

chumbucket - 2009-01-22

"bettah blue than red man, bettah blue....than RED"

a color presentation

fatatty - 2009-01-22

He was bad. The chick did a good job though. Love the 2D animation.

La Loco - 2009-01-22

I am thrilled and can not wait to see this movie.

xennui - 2009-01-22

Damnit, I heard Dr. Manhattan was really going to be naked in the movie. I want blue mutant penis!

thatonegirl - 2009-01-22

I'm sure when the porn version comes out, you'll see it.

jangbones - 2009-01-22

The Crotchmen

Hooper_X - 2009-01-22

Five fucking stars for making it look like an honest to god late 60s early 70s newscast. The faux military testing footage could look a little more raggedy, but great job with the anchors hair and clothes and especially the sets and graphics.

Xenocide - 2009-01-22

Agreed, this gets a five simply for how hard they worked to make it seem real.

Ranma X. - 2009-01-22

Seconded. Love the work in the inset graphics and titles.

StanleyPain - 2009-01-22

Pretty cool.

Jeff Fries - 2009-01-22

Didn't quite pull it off there

Timothy A. Bear - 2009-01-22

WAY too aged, intentional or not. Compare to CBS News footage of Walter Cronkite from the same period. 1972 circa 1947.

jmags - 2009-01-22

I agree that the aging effects were way overdone here, and they clash like crazy with the updating/glossifying of the characters.

socialist_hentai - 2009-01-22

maybe it won't suck... god i hope it dosen't suck! pls let it not suck!

Udderdude - 2009-01-22

It's going to suck.

Sudan no1 - 2009-01-22

OH NO A COMIC BOOK MOVIE MIGHT BE SUB-PAR

Big Name Celebrity - 2009-10-02

Update 2009: It didn't suck.

pastorofmuppets - 2009-01-22

Did they talk about Vietnam in Watchmen? I don't remember. It seems like they wouldn't, because Dr. Manhattan's existence was basically meant "world peace" with the US calling the shots.

Also the cartoon seemed odd since I remember that in Watchmen pirates are what the kids are into, since costumed heroes are an everyday thing.

Still gets 5 from me.

minimalist - 2009-01-22

There's an encounter between the Comedian (working in his capacity for the CIA) and Dr. Manhattan in Vietnam.

There were also some panels of Dr. Manhattan brutally, and emotionlessly, killing some VC, and that scene seems to have made it into the movie (in one of the trailers).

Hooker - 2009-01-22

There was a helluva lot of Vietnam talk in Watchmen.

Sudan no1 - 2009-01-22

I think it's funny you people will complain about stuff like this, only to complain when the movie ends up being a shot-by-shot translation of the comic.

pastorofmuppets - 2009-01-23

Yeah I remember now. It's been a long time since I read it. I did notice the flamethrower in one of the trailers, if that's what you mean.

Sudan, I knew how pedantic I was being, but with comic book movies that's practically required. Anyway if it's a shot-by-shot redo then I'll be pissed. Then again I probably wouldn't know since I don't feel like rereading it before the movie comes out.

Blaise - 2009-01-22

I doubt I'll really care how far-from-perfect it is, I'm still going to cum all over it.

TeflonDoc - 2009-01-23

how did Watchmen get a better looking fake Nixon than the one nominated for an oscar?

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2009-01-23

This entertained me. So maybe this will be good in spite of the director being horrible.

libby1217 - 2009-01-26

you must be all youngsters....believe it or not this is how tv started....i remember when my son was little we would go to my grandmas and watching tv after 1200 was non existent pretty much...my son is 25...not that long ago but believe me this is real...

IrishWhiskey - 2009-07-28

My history book and the continued popularity of calamari in New York say otherwise.

ogmisce - 2010-07-01
