him tapping on his own glass eye was probably the best part of that overly long and somewhat overwrought movie
I would go a step further and say Bill the Butcher is one of my all-time favorite villains in a film I otherwise don't care much about.
Maybe the best all time movie villain ever. Put'em in a pit, see who comes out. Even odds it's Bill the Butcher. Too bad about the rest of the movie, it's 45 minutes of solid gold.
This is one of my all time favorite scenes, because it more or less sums up life.

Walter reminds me too much of Dara O'Brien to take seriously.
It's really too bad about this movie. Why couldn't Scorcese have picked a different ka?
