I liked the helicopter best, because the way the rotors never blurred made it look especially stop-motiony.

seriouslyuguys - 2009-03-10

This is gorgeous.

IrishWhiskey - 2009-03-10

I heart tilt-shift

lustygoat - 2009-03-10

i generally think tilt shift is a stupid fucking gimmick, but this was pretty cool.

oogaBooga - 2009-03-10

This is great and all but what makes it "tilt shift" and not "time lapse"?

RockBolt - 2009-03-10

Its both, tilt shift refers to the shallow depth of field

dichotic1 - 2009-03-10

I cant figure out if I hate these things because I cant tell if it's real or if I loved these things because I cant tell if they're real...

Everything is toys.

kelpfoot - 2009-03-10

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tilt-shift_miniature_faking:

"It is perhaps improper to refer to this technique as 'tilt-shifting'. These more detailed digital 'fakes' do not simulate the effect of tilt-shifting per se, rather it merely simulates the effect of photographing a miniature, and to a much more realistic effect than a tilt-shifted photograph."

In this particular case, the creator does claim (in the associated vimeo discussion) to use an actual tilt-shift lens and careful timing.

fluffy - 2009-06-19

Yeah, this is real tilt-shift. This video inspired a bunch of my coworkers to buy tilt-shift lenses because they want to be tilt-shift dilettantes. I can't say I disapprove.

Ghoul - 2009-03-11

Some of the coolest Warhammer terrain i've ever seen!

j lzrd / swift idiot - 2009-03-11

Hang on Red Shirt, keep your head above water! The chopper is on it's way!

:D HAPPY ENDING!!

MrBuddy - 2009-03-11

I knew that was going to happen. Do you think they have to use that helicopter very often? Do you think that scene was staged?

baleen - 2009-03-11

Amazing what a little blurring can do. The brain is weird.

Xiphias - 2009-03-11
