I'll be back after I put some Aloe on my eyes.

You can smell the vitriol.

I'm guessing about 3/4ths of the population of the South are hatching half-assed never-to-be-realized plans to kill this man right about now.

That's how you know he's right.

Wow. I don't know if this guy is right about his assessment of the republican base. I haven't done the legwork. But I certainly hope he is. It casts the intellectual republicans I know in a much less common light.

Christ. 5 stars for DL Hughley doing his best impression of a serious person who can speak straight. They need to put him behind a desk because the things he does with his hands are frankly odd.

I'm with this guy right up until the point where he blathers "Every American who loves their country should support the president whether they voted for him or not!" Yeah, uh, no. Sorry, crazy religious guy. Just because you've managed to wrench your myopic good n' evil worldview around and get it headed in my general direction doesn't mean I'm going to hitch a lift.

I think he was more referring to the fact that you shouldn't stand there and say you hope the president fails, especially the cost of everybody losing their jobs and living in tents and starving to death.

I agree with you. It pissed me off to no end when the previous administration simply hid behind a big flag and their supporters, right up until the very minute the election was called for Obama, equated supporting the Democratic party with hating America.

But, he did use "right now" as a qualifier. I am going to give him the benefit of a doubt and assume that he meant that. That the circumstances of this moment coupled with the fact that Obama's just starting, is enough of a reason to give him support, at least until the first big screwup.

You know what, I just read the Huff Post piece and the guy is really just full of it. He changed the color of his tie but the bullshit arguments are all the same ones that I'm sick of hearing.

He blames Bush's second term for the financial crisis. That's just the starting point, I don't even care enough to worry about his other "points". If the Republicans get what they want, troops die. If the Democrats get what they want, troops die. Or kitties will starve and terrorists will dance naked in the streets.

Quit trying to fucking scare us, we have real concerns and your imaginary apocalypses don't factor into them.
