Well I, for one, enjoy acts of copyright infringement because it is indeed WRONG!!!

Cleaner82 - 2009-03-26

She's just indifferent because she won't profit off her little jingle either way.

Cleaner82 - 2009-03-27

Thie-ving isn't wrong!
No one ever holds anything for long
If y'look at it that way, it's just a loan
So I collect and go home!

Thie-ving isn't wrong!
When I steal from you, steal from someone back!
That's the circle of life, get you right on track
The trick that humanists lack!

Stealing property is fun, no need to pitch a fit!
If it's not food, you can't eat it and if you can't eat it, you don't need it!

Shifting from you to me, that is what we call thievery
I wanted more, but now I'm through
And now you'll want to -- STEAL TOOOOO!

MrBuddy - 2009-03-27

Trolling doesn't work if it's obvious and (not counting mine) 3 of the 8 comments on this video are all from the same person including a comment on his own comment. If it weren't for that I'll bet it would have launched a great flame war.

Cleaner82 - 2009-03-27

Errr...

First of all are you referring to me? Because I've only posted twice. Unless your post was a ruse to TRICK me into posting a third time in which case WELL PLAYED.

Also, I'm not trolling.

Albuquerque Halsey - 2009-03-27

smug, insufferable horrible human being-5 stars!

DrVital - 2009-03-27

Someone I actually know!

FIVE STARS!

Comrade Admiral - 2009-03-27

I hate this argument. I pirate like a motherfucker, but I hold no illusions that what I am doing is a GRAND NOBLE GESTURE and that I am on the front lines of spreading information to the masses.

I do it because I don't always want to pay for all of my music and movies and premium cable, and it's still basically OK here in Canada.

With that said, I do still go to concerts and pick up a cd from the merch stand, I go to the theatre occasionally, and I'll usually buy the box set of a tv series I really enjoy. Given that, I don't feel that there are any particular corporations or artists that are losing income because of my downloading patterns.

It's fucking alright to just come out and admit that you don't want to pay for something you can get so easily for free.

CharlesSmith - 2009-03-27

At least _I_ don't try to justify my piracy! (Three paragraphs of justification follows)

pastorofmuppets - 2009-03-28

I know a lot of professional musicians. I hope to be one someday. These are people who by and large live paycheck to paycheck, despite what the internet's many billions of genius teenagers think. These are guys who have to call up BMI to argue over a hundred bucks because they got played more on XM than what BMI reported back to them.

So, no, you idiot. You're not "stealing" the music, you're copying it. But you are stealing fucking money.

It's not like I don't download. I love music, I pay a great deal of money every month, but very often my friends have something I want to hear *right now* and I grab a copy of it. I agree with Comrade, the people who try and justify what they're doing are the worst sort of person.

That said, copyright law is completely fucked and needs a serious reduction in length, an overhaul of what is considered copyrightable, and fair use needs to be a legitimate legal defense. Because as of right now any idiot with an axe to grind and the RIAA's wallet in tow can sue you into obvlivion, even for fair use. Is it any wonder people don't give a shit about who they're hurting? They see how big the publishers are, and for how many generations those guys have our culture tied up.

But real people get hurt by downloading too, and they can't justify their grocery bill away. What a world we live in that a love of music should be a thing that dooms you to a life of poverty.

Comrade Admiral - 2009-03-29

Charles Smith totally missed my point, which is mainly my fault for keeping that throwaway sentence about my own spending habits.

It's not whether it's right or wrong (I think it's wrong, but again, I do it anyway), it's the bullshit idea that copying is something that is beneficial to anybody at all, other than us selfish wangs who are getting free entertainment.

pastorofmuppets - 2009-04-25

i should also clarify. my insults were inteded at the lady in the video. i think pretty much all the comments here are saying the same thing, which is that she is horrific and that downloading, while not the end of the world, becomes worse when you try to justify it as some sort of liberating thing.

Urburos - 2009-03-27

5 starring because while I don't approve of what she's saying, I think it deserves to remain on the site so that others can have the knowledge that it exists.

pastorofmuppets - 2009-03-28

personally i five starred her because she's like a female david the gnome
