You don't get this shit in other civilized countries to the degree we have it here. Half the population believes this bullshit. Half our population are fucking morons.

I don't like to admit it, but I tend to automatically hate people when I find out they are Creationists.

RomancingTrain - 2009-04-05

Is it really prejudice if you wait until after they say something contemptible?

SolRo - 2009-04-05

If someone yells "I ARE STUPID", you aren't a bad person for thinking they are stupid.

pastorofmuppets - 2009-04-07

More than half, if you go by the ICR's numbers. But since they're crap at biology I tend to distrust their statistics as well.

Also, don't leave Great Britain out of this. I've seen them included in those figures as well. Which is kind of funny since the Anglican church "apologized" to Darwin last year.

I like this guy...

buttnutt - 2009-04-05

Hooray fro Texan Potholer54

I mean for

dancingshadow - 2009-04-05

A big step would be to separate evolution from origin of life. That's where most of the religious issues arise from.

Camonk - 2009-04-06

It would be a wrongheaded, intellectually dishonest step. And while creationists do get all babbly in the head over a scientific origin of life, the idea of science explaining biodiversity ALSO makes them crazy.

So, in brief, your idea is stupid. You're stupid.

dead_cat - 2009-04-07

The ToE doesn't explain abiogenesis, it explains biodiversity.

KnowFuture - 2009-04-05

Thanks, PoETV, for reminding me yet again that I live next door to (indeed, about an hour from) one of the loudest, craziest states in the Union.

sometimes you eat the bar, sometimes the bar eats you.

Meerkat - 2009-04-05

For some reason I kept feeling like I was in an animatronic disney ride while listening to this.

sliggy - 2009-04-06

This dude sounds like a pissed off Hank Hill. Every well-educated liberal sort of Texan man sounds like this guy. It's awesome.

kingarthur - 2009-04-06

I'd like to borrow the preload image. Since I do not yet have context for the image, I'll either:
A. Do something so amazing she'll cry out for God.

or

B. *&%^ the stupid out of her.

Gwago - 2009-04-06

Misleading preload image.

pastorofmuppets - 2009-04-07

C'mon. Tell her no. Can't you say no?
I dare you to abstain, you freakin' ANIMAL.

Also: all of you need to read, at the very lest, the ruling in Kitzmiller v. DASD. But if you have the time then the cross-exams are very important as well. And the work of Michael Behe is something that (sadly) all educated people need to be familiar with.
