I didn't know Troma did educational films.

UserName11 - 2009-04-09

nice throw back

revdrew - 2009-04-07

He was right back at that machine, WORKING IT WITH THE OTHER HAND.

StanleyPain - 2009-04-07

KA CHUNK KA CHUNK!!

raeshaldis - 2009-04-09

AHHHHHHHHH!

oogaBooga - 2009-04-07

What about that other video (german? or english? i forgot) where everyone is fucking getting horribly mangled, impaled on forklifts, getting screwdrivers in the brain, etc...

I saw it a while ago, but I dont want to post it if its a dupe, but for the life of my I dont know what it was called.

sosage - 2009-04-07

I posted it a way back...early days of POETV...when we had a forum and everything!

http://www.poetv.com/video.php?vid=645

...and it is dead. So...

Comeuppance - 2009-04-07

Mentioned in a comment in a video linked to by the "Workplace safety" tag:

These videos seem like great ways to convince someone to work somewhere that you're less likely to get mangled.

Randroid - 2009-04-08

Ah, Staplerfahrer Klaus!

sosage - 2009-04-07

From the title and the current employment climate, I thought this was going to be about handling an impending layoff. Still 5 worthy, just for the propane powered rocket.

mashedtater - 2009-04-07

Yes. That was the part I lost it.

RomancingTrain - 2009-04-08

Jesus, I didn't last 40 seconds.

Dinkin Flicka - 2009-04-08

Neither did any of these people at their job...

kingarthur - 2009-04-08

The rocket mishap got me too. I laughed so hard other people came in the room to check on me.

StanleyPain - 2009-04-07

I've never worked an industrial job, so I'm legitimately curious: how often do gas tanks propel across the room and into someone's face? Or impalement? Or someone randomly deciding to weld a tank of explosive?

Camonk - 2009-04-07

It's pretty common if you're in a Final Destination movie.

HankFinch - 2009-04-08

I imagine a guy shifting his gaze from a blowtorch to a barrel of gasoline and back a few times and putting two and two together.

AHA! I know what to do...

Blaise - 2009-04-07

I now have an answer for when people ask me "Why don't you get a job?".

Thanks POETV!

Comeuppance - 2009-04-07

You know, you don't tend to get your arm ripped off by a lathe if you work at Target.

TeflonDoc - 2009-04-07

Target's late 90s / early 00s training videos did have similar horror stories about a wedding ring tearing off your middle finger. There's no room for love on the housewares aisle.

Jack Dalton - 2009-04-07

Watching this made me feel ill. But accident porn is usually not effective... the guy who wants to take a blowtorch to explosive barrels and the guy who mangles his hand because he's not getting overtime-- well, nothing is going to stop their inevitable quest to workers comp-land.
Bonus: Exploding barrels exist outside of video games.

athodyd - 2009-04-07

when you hear kettle drums you know shit is going to go down

detc - 2009-04-08

5 for when it stopped being gruesome and started getting funny at the hammer and nail sequence.

glasseye - 2009-04-08

The machines.

They hunger.

Avengingatheist - 2009-04-08

At 3:40 is that a dummy head or did he get horribly burned falling off the forklift?

Baby Finster - 2009-04-08

And all this is only ONE DAY at Clumsy Industries, Inc.

RomancingTrain - 2009-04-08

This was made in 1998?!

FABIO - 2009-04-08

This can't possibly have not meant to be hilarious.

Rocket propane tank turning into an American Gladiators jousting stick right before it hits the guy.

The final welding torch one: you're expecting some complex Final Destination accident to be triggered, but nope! He really was just taking a cutting torch to a barrel of explosives!

Goethe and ernie - 2009-04-08

Stars withheld until somebody finds and uploads a version with sound in both channels.

Syd Midnight - 2009-04-08

Holy shit the one at 1:15 looks like a nuclear criticality accident. Teach him to bang on pipes full of acid and plutonium sludge.

chumbucket - 2009-04-08

a training film by Wes Craven

Rudy - 2009-04-08

There's just something about watching gruesome workplace accidents being re-enacted accompanied by a screeching industrial noise that really makes my day.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2009-04-08

I have to give a HAND to these people for telling me how to be safe.

Aggro Craig - 2009-04-08

I had to watch one of these while working in a refinery. They had a guy horribly act out getting splashed with 450 degree crude oil, falling off a platform and flailing on the ground for a while. I couldn't hold my laughter in and let out a few chuckles.

Then the guy from the reenactment showed some of his burns, and spoke in great detail about how when they hit him with the water hose it blasted some of his skin off, and how the only thing he thought about in the hospital afterwords was a story of a guy who had a similar accident who lasted two weeks before dieing painfully. I didn't expect they would use the same guy to do the reenactment, or that he would be willing to do so.

I've heard stories from some of the old timers ending in closed casket funerals that still terrify me.

Lauritz Melchior - 2009-04-12

Dude! That was just the opening sequence?! This film is going to be AMAZING!

UmbilicalFiend - 2009-04-12

that degloved finger scene is raw as hell

Jeriko-1 - 2009-05-26

That was a Howie Long Scream with the finger too. Damn it!!!

Scrotum H. Vainglorious - 2009-05-06

It's gone now :{

Pillager - 2009-12-14

Not for long.

;)
