I saw it a while ago, but I dont want to post it if its a dupe, but for the life of my I dont know what it was called.

From the title and the current employment climate, I thought this was going to be about handling an impending layoff. Still 5 worthy, just for the propane powered rocket.

I've never worked an industrial job, so I'm legitimately curious: how often do gas tanks propel across the room and into someone's face? Or impalement? Or someone randomly deciding to weld a tank of explosive?

I now have an answer for when people ask me "Why don't you get a job?".

Watching this made me feel ill. But accident porn is usually not effective... the guy who wants to take a blowtorch to explosive barrels and the guy who mangles his hand because he's not getting overtime-- well, nothing is going to stop their inevitable quest to workers comp-land.

There's just something about watching gruesome workplace accidents being re-enacted accompanied by a screeching industrial noise that really makes my day.

I have to give a HAND to these people for telling me how to be safe.

I had to watch one of these while working in a refinery. They had a guy horribly act out getting splashed with 450 degree crude oil, falling off a platform and flailing on the ground for a while. I couldn't hold my laughter in and let out a few chuckles.

Then the guy from the reenactment showed some of his burns, and spoke in great detail about how when they hit him with the water hose it blasted some of his skin off, and how the only thing he thought about in the hospital afterwords was a story of a guy who had a similar accident who lasted two weeks before dieing painfully. I didn't expect they would use the same guy to do the reenactment, or that he would be willing to do so.

I've heard stories from some of the old timers ending in closed casket funerals that still terrify me.
