Suffering on wait lists sound better than never being helped. Better late than never.

Not surprisingly FactCheck.org had an easy time with this one

Rockbolt, thank you for pointing me at my new favorite website.

I acted as an interpreter for Humana, and had to explain to a member who had Priapism (and had surgery that relieved him of it but left him impotent) that his first surgery was deemed necessary and was therefore covered, but that the second surgery that would restore his penile function was considered cosmetic, and would not be covered.

A WORLD OF CHOICES!!!

Anorexic Lurch is right!

Xenocide - 2009-04-30

Stars for you.

Caminante Nocturno - 2009-04-30

Oh, no! The Government controlling my health care is so much worse than not being able to afford health care at all! Nobody's dying as a result of that!

I want to jam a shoe tree down Rick Scott's throat.

voodoo_pork - 2009-05-01

I want to hack off that hand he keeps talking at me with and slap him across his Herman Munster face.

charmlessman - 2009-04-30

Oh no!! They're going to take away my choice of doctor!!
See, because as it stands now, you are free to choose whichever doctor you can afford!
You can afford to choose one, right?

mon666ster - 2009-04-30

I'm sorry, but isn't the American model based on private health insurance? Wouldn't you rather your government control health care as opposed to giant profit-seeking corporations?

The USA has to be the only country where politicians actually campaign issues with the platform "You don't trust US to do it, do you?"

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2009-04-30

The problem with the so-called "Libertarian" model of private companies being able to do things better than the government for things like health care is that they forget the motive behind private companies is profit. The HMO system is set up where the company authorizing the care gets more money the less care it authorizes.

I'm still waiting for an adequate answer from Libertopia about how this is supposed to work, since it obviously doesn't. Further, private health care for people not in a giant megacorporation (i.e. a small business person) sucks royal balls because they cover next to nothing or find a way to screw you (the worst one I saw was a policy that renewed with every premium payment, which made you a "new customer." If you got diagnosed with a condition and tried to claim it after a premium payment, that was considered a pre-existing condition because you were a "new customer").

SDAusmus - 2009-04-30

Rick Scott may not like government getting involved in health care, but his old company Columbia/HCA certainly liked ripping off Medicare and Medicaid. He was forced to resign while the company paid .7B to avoid criminal charges.

Why is he holding his hands like a muppet?

DrVital - 2009-05-01

Because he's got a hand up his ass.

5 stars for fearmongering.

Also, these issues could be easily resolved if it were just mandated that before they had permission to air these commercials, they had to air a 30 second clip of the global rankings of perspective 'suspect' health care systems, by nation, and where they are in comparison to the U.S.'s spot (hint: above)

I don't know why anyone hasn't made a counter commercial showing the populace the joys and wonders of the Bangladeshi or Zimbabwean health care systems, to bring support the system the consveratives are really trying to bring about.

The saddest thing is how many people just take them at face value. And vote Republican.
