Lie #24 is that you didn't like like the Battlefield Earth movie.

Fact: Yes you did. You liked it a lot because it was great.

Surely if you are capable of reading a book your eyes are already open?
Syd Midnight - 2009-05-01
The one I remember best portrayed a psychologist as a raving bearded lunatic who smashed rats with a hammer.

So Scientologists have no brains. I see.
fluffy - 2009-05-02
Did people realize Scientology was a cult back then? Because if not, DAMN.

Open your eyes by being exposed to revamped psychology ideas stolen from Freud.

If you're going to follow a wacked out sci-fi writer make it P.K. Dick.
pastorofmuppets - 2009-05-04
That's a good idea. Unfortunately the latest sci-fi author to try and start a pay-church is Ray Kurzweil.

Why it is always the crappy ones? Why can't there be a church of Vonnegut or something?

cognitivedissonance - 2009-05-02
Imagine a world where man IS nothing but a brain. Think of the bottomless market in jars and jar cleaning supplies!

My brain finds it amusing that this message would resonate with any of the other brains out there.

OUR BODIES ARE INHABITED BY ALIENS WHO CAME TO EARTH ON DC-10'S, WHY CAN'T YOU PEOPLE SEE THE TRUTH?
Syd Midnight - 2009-05-02
I just realized, it's not a terribly effective strawman when what your Villains are saying would be fascinating and inspirational if they weren't saying it in such an exaggeratedly creepy manner.
Cleaner82 - 2009-05-02
Actually I kind of find the opposite is true. I mean think about it.

On one hand you have a bunch of guys saying that the evidence shows your intelligence stems from a pile of meat in your skull. On the other hand you have people saying we're all superpowerful alien beings who were downtrodden by an EVIL VILLAIN long ago and if we really want, we can get superpowers.

Now which of those looks like it was created out of nothing just to rope suckers? Who would say, "YOU'RE NOTHING BUT A BRAIN!!!" and expect to garner a cult?

pastorofmuppets - 2009-05-04
i think you guys just said the same thing, more or less
