It's a great routine, but it can only be performed once.

Syd Midnight - 2009-07-09

No comment will top this one

Caminante Nocturno - 2009-05-08

The last thing he ever heard was people laughing at him.

Cleaner82 - 2009-05-08

If he were a true comedian he would love that even his dying got a laugh.

But who knows, he might also have been horrified.

Syd Midnight - 2009-05-08

That's a good interview question for a comedian. "Would you rather die alone, or famously on stage making everyone laugh?" Then again, I bet they all felt like shit about 2 minutes later.

Camonk - 2009-05-14

And that would've made most comedians like the idea even more.

Billie_Joe_Buttfuck - 2009-05-08

That is a great jacket to die in.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2009-05-08

It really sets off his fez.

mashedtater - 2009-05-08

I feel like I need to post my reaction video. My eyes can only get so big.

boner - 2009-05-08

He died and he killed

kiint - 2009-05-08

I slay me!

zatojones - 2009-05-08

it's more than disturbing that his labored last breath got the biggest laugh

Kojack13 - 2009-05-08

Death rattles are HILARIOUS.

UmbilicalFiend - 2009-05-08

gurgle

CornOnTheCabre - 2009-05-08

why can't Carlos Mencia steal from this guy?

themilkshark - 2009-05-08

This.

Indidan - 2009-05-08

seconded

Lindner - 2009-05-09

You have my stars, sir.

HA!! :D

Dinkin Flicka - 2009-06-01

I'm glad we're friends.

Syd Midnight - 2009-07-09

I was wrong about the best comment

Ponasty - 2009-09-02

Syd Midnight was wrong when he said the first comment couldn't be topped. Although If Mencia did this he would be remebered in 20 years.

Footslave - 2010-04-15

BOOM HEADSHOT!

fapfapfap

baleen - 2009-05-08

Pretty much just sadness tinged with sadness.

They had to keep him on the stage for "legal reasons" and didn't even turn the lights on backstage as they tried to revive him.

It's sad not only because nobody deserves to die like that, it's sad because he could have been resuscitated.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2009-05-08

Wait, what? Who the fuck was responsible for that horrifying tidbit? Keeping him on stage when you know there's a problem = highly immoral.

Bort - 2009-05-08

What measures did they fail to take to resuscitate him? I'm not finding anything that says any treatment was withheld, only that the show continued bizarrely on.

themilkshark - 2009-05-08

The man's madcap comedic style seriously left audiences a little out of the loop, watching the wild events unfold in front of them even if it barely made coherent sense. Watch the lady taking the microphone away, she is completely buying his actions as a planned comedy bit. No one is to blame, this is simply ironic fate. He is now eternal, what a great way to go out.

baleen - 2009-05-08

The only source I could find detailing his death (given the time I have to look for this kind of thing) was in the Daily Mail:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-1163611/Its-nearl y-25-years-died-Tommy-Cooper-away--cannibal-whos-late-dinner-The-c old-shoulder.html

Cube - 2009-05-09

Did you check http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tommy_Cooper ?

baleen - 2009-05-10

Were you being sarcastic? I was looking for a slightly more reliable source, if you weren't being sarcastic.

allcaps - 2009-07-19

The Daily Mail is a more reliable source?

IrishWhiskey - 2009-07-24

What allcaps said. I honestly have trouble thinking of anything less reliable than the Daily Mail. Maybe Alex Jones.

Sean Robinson - 2009-05-08

This is really depressing

sadness tinged with arousal - 2009-05-08

It really is depressing, and I have the vaguest of memories of actually watching this. They continued to laugh because his whole act was based around being a lovable loser who was resigned to everything going wrong. It works, horribly, with his stage persona.

And yeah, I don't recall anything about not treating him at the scene.

Ghoul - 2009-05-08

I'm not sure If I should laugh at this.

Hooper_X - 2009-05-08

That's fucked up, man. Apparently he was a giant fucking dick in real life. Alcoholic, abusive, mean as hell.

Still, that's a fucked up way to go.

Random_Hajile - 2009-05-08

Damn, I feel terrible for laughing at that.

memedumpster - 2009-05-08

Stop me if you've heard this one.

Bort - 2009-05-08

You do have to give him credit, falling backwards so it looked like it was staged for maximum comedic effect (especially the fez). Dying is easy, comedy is hard, but this guy does both and makes it look like child's play.

themilkshark - 2009-05-08

Agreed.

spikestoyiu - 2009-05-08

Take my life, please!

Erix - 2009-05-09

Oh my God. I really thought Scroobius Pip made this up.

Adham Nu'man - 2009-05-14

WHEN DID THIS PLAZE TURN INTO ROTTEN.COM?!?!?!

Pillager - 2009-06-29

What?

You just have to show funny or ironic deaths.

Konversekid - 2009-05-17

This isn't depressing. This is honestly beautiful. This man died doing what he loved; making people laugh.

keinsignal - 2009-05-18

I can think of worse ways to go. Most of 'em, really.

Rape Van Winkle - 2009-06-02

FIND THE REST OF THE TAPE!

kennydra - 2009-06-15

Well, he did die really hilariously. How awkward.

ztc - 2009-06-16

5'ed for 'corpsing' tag

Freeman Gordon - 2009-06-22

where is keyboard cat when you need him?

Syd Midnight - 2009-09-16

That is the only "Keyboard Cat" joke to ever make me smile. And props to the ZTC comment above you.

MrTodd - 2009-09-05

"Favorited 4 Times".

Syd Midnight - 2009-09-16

"sadness tinged with arousal"

JSP - 2009-09-06

Funny as anything.

Syd Midnight - 2009-09-16

Coming back after a year or so.. this video really, really bothered me. And I still won't watch it again. BUT.. of all the death videos I've seen it haunts me the least because I know that a British comedian wouldn't mind checking out this way. Anything but mindless good taste!

ztc - 2010-05-26

The comic timing on his collapse and death rasp is still amazing.

Hooper_X - 2010-02-07

And here, students, we see an early form of the "Time Travel Mishap Syndrome", where the submitter's username creates a sort of ironic bonus tag.

fluffy - 2010-03-07

flump

tamago - 2010-04-17

How many comedians can say they've killed and died at the same exact moment?

Anonymous - 2010-07-31

There's supposed to be a more complete video on YouTube,.but I haven't fopund it yet For some reason, I'd really like to see a little more of his final routine.
