I used to do this, but i tied the rope off at the ends of telephone poles. And I used real rope.

It's a lot more ballsy if you pretend to pick up rocks off the ground and throw them at cars, these dudes look like a bunch of faggy theatre majors with nothing better to do on a Sunday after one too many Bacardi Breezers. One time when I used the rock trick as a kid I had a man tell me in a thick slavic accent that he was going to "blow my head off".
