Oh hell, I don't know. I'm tired of this discussion.

I will say when he's being electrocuted he has a beautiful singing voice.

Rovin - 2009-05-13

The coverage by their local news: http://www.azfamily.com/video/?z=y&nvid=361039

He's a Baptist pastor. The story never says exactly what he was doing, which seems a bit odd, even if it comes down to, "I was driving home from the grocery store."

Also, on the family blog they point out they believe that a lot of their communication stuff - gmail, G1 phones, YouTube, and so on - aren't working as usual, therefore they might have Big Brother listening in on them.

Rape Van Winkle - 2009-05-13

I'm glad to hear it was the same dude. I watched this and I was like, "fuck, this is happening a lot now."

Cube - 2009-05-13

Oh you silly Americans,

why don't you just do what Big Brother tells you to,

and sing songs about you magnificent freedom.

Enjoy - 2009-05-13

You don't understand. This was a Christian disobeying the state.

If it were professional protesters smashing Starbucks windows, it would have been good to resist.

Cube - 2009-05-13

The Finlandia Hymn is a bit weird choice of music for a video about American police, but I'll take it.

Smellvin - 2009-05-13

Just for people who are unfamiliar with the story: though this was a border patrol stop, it was about 50 miles within the US and the guy was traveling between California and Arizona.

oogaBooga - 2009-05-13

fuck the border police

memedumpster - 2009-05-13

Oh fuck, this guy again? I'm done getting bent out of shape because of this. It's like we're all watching people get hit by trains when they wander onto the tracks marked "trains will hit you here." We're not going to stop them, the train, or ourselves from watching, so what's the motivation to have an emotional response about this?

Jeriko-1 - 2009-05-13

Yeah, those uppity colored folk all had it coming when they got pressure hosed in the 60's.

Just kidding, that guy is a loon.

Aoi - 2009-05-13

Being a fucking dickhole about one thing does not mean you are a fucking dickhole about another thing by default. Likewise, NOT being a fucking dickhole about this one thing (shitty border guard policies/abuse) is not invalidated just because he may be a fucking dickhole about pretty much everything else.

Rape Van Winkle - 2009-05-13

I love this argument. "gawd, doesn't he know he needs to just bend over every time someone with a badge tells him to? My dad owns a dealership I'm smart."

memedumpster - 2009-05-13

So what are we going to do about border guard abuse, since we're all here and angry about it?

Nothing.

This guy wanted us to see this shit because he's delusional about us coming to save him. I wish people would stop doing that to themselves.

Cleaner82 - 2009-05-13

We're all here? We're all where?

Well I was hoping I could resist jumping back in, but the density continues to depress me. You're saying he 'asked for' a drug-sniffing dog to be brought up as a pretext for cops to electrocute and subsequently beat (probably) him? Why, because he's out of his mind, because he's annoying? They still can't tell him why he's under arrest, you see that in the video. This has been and continues to be bullshit.

What's the motivation to have an emotional response? Well fucked if I know Mr. Spock, let me consult my emotional response charts. After a short perusal they seem to indicate that I don't give a shit what your emotional response is.

memedumpster - 2009-05-14

Nope, the border guards were stupid cunts with the whole dog fiasco. What this guy did was give them an excuse to live out their favorite masturbation fantasies through destroying his car, fucking him up, and traumatizing his life.

He thought that by doing this it would end border patrol abuse because he was standing up for rights he never actually had. Now, to make matters worse, he's trying to draw attention to it, thinking we'll see it as something other than entertainment, which we don't.

Every day these border guards could beat the fuck out of someone and mail us pictures personally autographed with a love note in full security that we'll be there waiting to see them the next day.

So please, let me on your secret crusade to stop this kind of thing, if it exists. Otherwise, it's your turn to make the popcorn.

I just realized that I forgot to rate this video.

Cleaner82 - 2009-06-15

No, really, all of that wasn't obvious at all.

I thought we were making a DIFFERENCE on this video commentary nook.

But in light of these new facts about the crushing and inevitable nature of human misery I think I'm going to continue having opinions. You don't have to, it's your nickel.

Enjoy - 2009-05-13

Patriot.

Hooker - 2009-05-13

Big Brother gave him the footage of his arrest? I must have misinterpreted 1984.

Cleaner82 - 2009-05-13

That's a good point.

Deconvolution - 2009-05-13

lol

Faggot got what he deserved for antagonizing the border guards. Needs "asking for it" tag. Also, "don't tase me bro".

Dinkin Flicka - 2009-05-14

That STUPID fucking QUEER.
