A boy and his colossus. Not really digging the design of the griffin thing or the kid though. Gets an extra star for using the Miller's Crossing music.
At first I thought the griffin's design was utterly ridiculous if that was supposed to be something fearsome, but then of course it quickly was not supposed to be fearsome.
I have mixed feelings about the design overall. It looks a bit too much like a chihuahua for my tastes. But the world of Ico is nothing if not beautifully uncanny, so we'll just have to see how it works in the final game (I expect the answer will be "very well").
Seems a bit rough around the edges. Something about the creature's movements bothers me, like it's missing the same sense of scale that Shadow of the Colossus had. It gives the impression that it's the size of a normal cat or dog, and the boy it's carrying around is just very tiny.
Well it's not evil but I'll give it ***** for coolness. So Yorda turned into a... kind of a griffin chimera (the giant creature has the same color patterns as Yorda) and Ico lost his horns? I can see how this would be like the original Ico game except instead of Yorda being annoyingly helpless, the new critter wouldn't be able to fit through the human sized door until Ico knocked down a wall or something.
