I thought Republicans hated it when movie stars got involved in politics?

IrishWhiskey - 2009-06-10

Oh, they love it. They're just jealous the Democrats get all the good ones. At the last CPAC they jeered the notion of listening to "Hollywood types" like Alec Bladwin, while applauding wildly at Stephen Baldwin as a guest speaker.

Also Voight is expressing the bizzare notion increasingly repeated by Fox News that Obama is simultaneously a stupid, cowardly, surrender-monkey, and a fiendishly brilliant tyrant who will soon have the whole world beneath his heel.

In fairness, the Left as a whole maintained two similar storylines about George W. Bush for years: That he was technically retarded, but also was an architect of untold horror to unleash on the world as a whole. Eventually, the "retard" thing just kept with Bush, and the maniacal supervillian angle got farmed out to Cheney.

Obviously, Biden's not going to wear the "evil dictator" suit well, so I'm thinking eventually it will turn into "Rahm Emmanuel wants to enslave us all, and Obama goes along with it because he is a pussy."

Very true citrusmirakel, very true.

Also, Jon Voight, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Bort - 2011-07-02

Bush being an idiot didn't contradict his being able to cause a lot of harm; at least half the damage Bush caused was because he couldn't be assed to worry about consequences.

The only part of the Bush administration that demonstrated any genius was the PR machine, but even that didn't take much brilliance: appeal to the common man's gut rather than his intellect, never admit error, and demonize your detractors. Pretty much the tactics the GOP has been using for decades. The fact that it succeeded for so long says more about the American people than the supervillainy of the Oval Office.

Angelina's craziness is all put into perspective.
She just focuses it on babies.

GlennFinito - 2009-06-10

Flying scissor kick chokehold-tag

RomancingTrain - 2009-06-10

Isn't that also the move he used on that talking Kung-Fu fighting dog in that one talking Kung-Fu fighting dog movie?

socialist_hentai - 2009-06-10

I can't wait for the days when all cinema will be computer generated, actors, voices, everything so i won't be fooled into liking some guy cos i liked the movie he was in only to find out he was some nut-case.

phalsebob - 2009-06-10

This is so amazingly amazing. Keep it up Republicans; I thought the jokes would cease when there was less to make fun of, but now you are both target and comedian in one brilliant lolercaust.

phalsebob - 2009-06-10

Oh, I only use the term lolercaust because the word holocaust is being abused.

sosage - 2009-06-10

I approve of lolercaust...and wtf Voight?!?!

voodoo_pork - 2009-06-10

Technically, it's "lolocaust".

memedumpster - 2009-06-10

Would it be a violation of the terms of service if I sent Shepherd Smith an email begging him to stop this man from inspiring more killings?

memedumpster - 2009-06-10

Assuming I can spell Shepard Smith's name right so the email will go through?

saganaki - 2009-06-10

I thought it was lollocaust. Otherwise it'd sound like one was referring to a largely-forgotten round blue NES game protagonist.

memedumpster - 2009-06-10

When the DSM-V comes out, the words "We and we alone" should be included on the checklist as a sign of all sorts of crazy shit. The actual flowchart should really look like...

"We and we alone" = All Sorts of Crazy Shit

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2009-06-10

"Who's going to take responsibility to keep Amer-- Israel safe?"

It's amazing how they confuse those, huh?

"We were the liberators of the world."

I'm sure the Brits, the Russians, etc. would have some words about that, since I'm assuming he's talking about WWII. If he's talking about Bush, then I can only assume he doesn't truly know the meaning of the word "disastrous."

"...this false prophet, Obama."

Why is it that the GOP keep claiming he's some kind of religious figure? Is that a hold over from when their base kept claiming that Bush was sent by God or some other pseudo-religious nonsense?

simon666 - 2009-06-10

Voight claims Obama is trying to get all of the dangerous people in the world to play nice," but his deduction isn't complete. Another perfectly suitable explanation is that Obama is giving the evil and dangerous countries a few opportunities to behave well, so in case they do not, international support against them is easier to obtain and the use of force (war) is justified. Fuck this twit.

Caminante Nocturno - 2009-06-11

I had no idea that John Voight was an asshole.

Pillager - 2009-06-11

The GOP can have his worthless ass.

Rudy - 2009-06-11

You know, I want to hate this guy but the image of Kim Jong-Il pushing Ahmadinejad in a swing is just too damn cute to condemn.
