Hahahahaha, you're right. That does not seem to have taken very long.

A Farsi-speaking reader translates this article:

"Grand Ayatollah Sanei in Iran has declared Ahmadinejad's presidency illegitimate and cooperating with his government against Islam. There are strong rumors that his house and office are surrounded by the police and his website is filtered. He had previously issued a fatwa, against rigging of the elections in any form or shape, calling it a mortal sin."

I just read that Khamenei's response to Mousavi's plea was that the election was all fair...?

Toenails - 2009-06-14

I heard *rumors* that Mousavi was arrested on his way to Khamenei's estate.

But, if that article is accurate, there is a major internal schism forming in the government that the mullahs might not be able to keep together.

Goethe and ernie - 2009-06-14

Mousavi's wife said he hadn't been arrested. Maybe Ahmadinejad had her replaced with a robot, like the chief of police in Streets of Rage 3? I always hated how you'd lose your powerups if you died, I could never get past stage 3 without dying. This is a fucked-up situation.

Thanks for the tag assist.

WAKE UP PEOPLE! This is more racist American imperialism! You don't the CIA had anything to do with this? They are our enemy and in all likelihood, the CIA got involved to rig the election to give the impression of a false election to overthrow the current government. HOW MANY TIMES HAVE WE SEEN THIS IN LATIN AMERICA!?

Toenails - 2009-06-14

Honest Question, cause now I'm really curious...

Has there been any instance of CIA involvement with a foreign government that has resulted in a grateful and friendly populace towards America?

MrBuddy - 2009-06-14

I saw this happen in the US once. The CIA overthrew the government of George W. Bush and used their control of the press to replaced him with a nearly unknown, foreign born, junior Senator from Illinois so the CIA could control the populous. Heh, I'm just kidding.

...oh crap. If I've just started a new truther movment I'm going to be really pissed off at myself.

simon666 - 2009-06-14

I was just having fun. This comment wasn't serious.

Toenails - 2009-06-14

I was just asking this question because there is a good history of America meddling in Iranian affairs, and no doubt the Obama administration is debating right now whether or not covert action would be prudent.

It got me to ponder if there was ever a successful revolution that the CIA helped out with.

simon666 - 2009-06-14

Not sure, however, my Iranian friend suggested this web site to me to follow the events. Most articles are in Farsi, but there are some in English too.

The satellite carrying the BBC Persian TV signal is getting blocked. They have traced the interference to a source in Iran.

memedumpster - 2009-06-14

Is he the Iranian Dubya, or did we get the American Ahmadinejad? Can he even say "Dubya?"

Camonk - 2009-06-14

C'mon now, if you stretch the definition of protester to include Heemeyer, I'm pretty sure you can't say ALL American protesters are pussies.

FineFilter - 2009-06-16

I just the whole election. Is this bad?

I was like messing around and I the WHOLE election.
