I'm glad the Eckankar people are open to me giving more love to animals, places and things than to people.

Considering the silly name and the tone of the voice I was expecting some 1960s level quackery. This doesn't sound insane at all. I'll withhold 2 stars until I gets mah crazy!

I actually knew a guy in undergrad whose dad was really really heavily into ECKANKAR in the late 70s. He had a giant briefcase full of all the old paperwork and stuff - it was basically a Scientology-style pyramid scheme; your mind could only handle a certain level of knowledge until you unlocked your power, and you basically had to pay out to get tested or whatever to make sure you were OK to handle the next stage of the process. It basically said in the booklets that if you read shit too soon, you could make yourself violently ill, because your body and mind were unprepared for the deepness that you were taking on.

That's pretty goddamned clever.
