He's kind of a dick if you get to meet him.
I've never met him, but I've seen youtube videos of fans meeting him. He really can't stand having to talk to fans.
Tom Savini is one of those celebrities most people don't know about but instantly fall in love with once they learn about him.
One of my first roommates in college was a special effects major. He basically worshiped Savini. I never got that far, but once I saw the cock gun he made in From Dusk Till Dawn, I was sold.
Savini got blackballed for hurting actors with shoddy special effects. : (
