This is a tough one to score. First, it's not on Hulu, so that's a big fucking mark against it right there. Second, I'm pretty sure there's a direct line from this to Jazz Man. Also, I don't care what Onstad says, Michael Jackson is not our Elvis.

You say this now, but in five years Neverland Ranch will be just as toured as Graceland, there will be people claiming that Jackson didn't die, people will focus on his early career rather than what he eventually became, and there will be novelty clocks where his hips shake swing back and forth (possibly while grabbing his crotch).

If he wasn't an Elvis, we'll certainly make him one.

Toenails, Elvis had managed to pull off a comeback.

Then he slinked off in a netherworld of drugs & paranoia.

Elvis is remembered for opening the door for black music to become mainstream.

MJ will be remembered as a creepy guy who lived in the shadow of a best selling album he could never top.

And a few other things...

Oh no, you misunderstand (which was my fault because I constantly type walls-of-text that make myself look retarded).

I agree with Camonk in the sense that there is no way you can compare two singers that have no similar style (Elvis with his white-bread blues/rock, and Jackson with his androgynous pop-tunes). I was just saying that given time, he's certainly going to gain a kitschy cult-status that I've only seen in Presley (hell, I don't even think Lennon enjoys that type of Weekly World News-esque fandom).

Oh.

*Every* musician is going to have to live in the shadow of Thriller. As the second best didn't even sell half of what Thriller sold.

Fair enough, I still don't foresee legions of Michael Jackson impersonators & awkward tour guide moments explaining that this is the room where MJ served up the Jesus Juice...

Considering the colossal amount of debt & sordid history of the Neverland ranch;

I'd be amazed if a museum is founded...
