I give Maddow and Msnbc quite a bit of credit for having such a big, famous, (if old) conservative name as a regular commenter.

FeeFiFoFoTheFifeFifeBrown - 2009-07-17

Yeah, imagine how hard it would be to be a decent news network without a crackpot racebaiter on the staff.

Xenocide - 2009-07-17

He was hired on during MSNBC's early days, when they were trying to copy Fox News instead of serving as its nemesis. He had like three or four terrible shows, all swiftly canceled. But I guess he had a contract because ever MSNBC switched over to a non-white supremacist demographic, it's been a bit hard for them to figure out what to do with him.

dementomstie - 2009-07-17

I thought at :30 he said "who I had sex with the first day she was nominated".
And wow, Pat Buchanan.

Pillager - 2009-07-17

My Therapy Bills will be forwarded to you until that image erases itself from my mind.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2009-07-17

O:

theSnake - 2009-07-17

I' am so sick of these white males constantly crying about discrimination.

Albuquerque Halsey - 2009-07-17

what a fucking ofay

azraiel - 2009-07-17

This is the first time I've emphatically disagreed with Rachel. She is entirely wrong. And fuck, but do I hate agreeing with Buchanan, but her dismissal of valid points detracts from her salient and appropriate stance.

William Burns - 2009-07-17

Valid points like "All the founding fathers were white!" or "Only whites fought on D-Day!" Or that Sotomayor is somehow unqualified for her job because she went to school during affermative action. She's tried more than 3,000 appeals cases and has written almost 400 opinions. Her career has been extremely uncontroversial up until the last couple weeks. This is more Palin-esqe flailing from the Republicans and you are stupid, stupid, stupid for buying into it.

You are stupid. You. So is Pat Buchanan, but you are probably even dumber.

StanleyPain - 2009-07-17

What valid points, exactly?

Tripitaka - 2009-07-17

Stars for the "It's Pat" logo.
Also, if Sotomayor got into Harvard and Yale because of affirmative action, then Bush got into Harvard by the white man's affirmative action; old money.

kamlem - 2009-07-17

Oh Grandpa!

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2009-07-17

Wow. I was just about to post this. Holy crap, I don't think even Rachel expected that.

THA SUGAH RAIN - 2009-07-17

"Shes never written anything I've read" is an ultimate qualifier

joyofdiscord - 2009-07-17

More news commentary should include a "crazy grandpa" segment.

MongoMcMichael - 2009-07-17

If you ever watch the chemistry between Maddow and Buchanan on any other MSNBC shows, it's absolutely fantastic. It seems like they rip into each other with a greater degree of venom and vitriol than other opinion/debate show guests, then go off for cocktails after the show is done.

Pat: "Y'know, Rachel, what you need is a good man in your life!"

Chip - 2009-07-17

He's asking if Sotomayor got into school solely because of her grades. Did G.W. Bush? Did Pat? Hell, did I? Or did our white families having been allowed to earn money help out a bit?

Dicknuts - 2009-07-17

The only qualification to get into a state university at the time I applied was to have gone to a state high school. Otherwise I would have been fucked.

RockBolt - 2009-07-17

THERE WERE NO BLACK PEOPLE IN THE CIVIL WAR, PFFT

baleen - 2009-07-17

What was rather heinous was that he somehow insinuated that black people were not involved in winning WWII.

phalsebob - 2009-07-17

"You are dating yourself" trans.- "HOLY CHRIST YOU ARE OLD!"

Syd Midnight - 2009-07-17

Pat, how many famous athletes were black when you were a kid? Like 1? How many pro basketball players were black? Did a black guy ever pitch to Babe Ruth?

What percentage of soldiers who died in Vietnam were black? What percentage of the population were they? What percentage of congress were they?

chumbucket - 2009-07-17

groups of white men can do no wrong!!

Scrotum H. Vainglorious - 2009-07-17

Pat, feeling more irrelevant with each passing day.

Syd Midnight - 2009-07-19

He's a genuinely tough old bastard, and remains a fun sparring partner for the left. Look how happy Maddow is at 6:00. I bet that was downright cathartic.

As long as guys like Pat are around, the left doesn't need strawmen.

DMKA - 2009-07-17

WHITES ARE BEING OPPRESSED! lulz

While I do agree that affirmative action is retarded, why is it everyone who says so says ANYTHING that isn't a white person is because of affirmative action, as if anyone but white people can actually have merit?

It's almost as if affirmative action is a necessary evil. And I hate that.

Mordant - 2009-07-17

Hate it all you want but as long as the world is filled with people like Pat it will be true.

Charles - 2009-09-28

I used to think affirmative action was a terrible idea that only threw a new spin into the unbalance of things, but it does have the right idea for the times.

If I want to have Maddow's babies, is that so terrible?

CornOnTheCabre - 2009-07-18

BUT THINGS HAVE BEEN GOING SO WELL LATELY!!! WHY MAKE ANY CHANGES?!
