But Saddam, Saddam was the guy we had to stop.

Stopheles - 2009-07-21

Well, obviously - Saddam didn't have nuclear weapons, whereas North Korea does, so the U.S. lets NK do pretty much whatever it wants with little more than stern words as a penalty.

Wonder if that discrepancy has influenced other nations' efforts to get WsMD?

Baby Finster - 2009-07-21

Born in a prison camp within a prison camp, located within North Korea which is also a prison camp.

Vaidency - 2009-07-21

That guy may have the most horrific lifestory I have ever heard. It is absolutely unfathomable to me that places like this still exist in the world.

Udderdude - 2009-07-21

There are other shitholes in the world, N.Korea is pretty high up there though.

Riskbreaker - 2009-07-21

Of course, Africa is the other strong candidate for worst place on earth. Still, all the stuff that is going on in N Korea is beyond words. George Orwell is rolling in his grave right now.

another chef's inside perspective

north korea is the only country i'd support a war against, if we could find some way to keep seoul from being destroyed by artillery in a matter of minutes

teethsalad - 2009-07-21

also, nukes. obviously

takewithfood - 2009-07-21

I'm going to have trouble sleeping tonight. I wish I was kidding.

EyeViolence - 2009-07-22

This made me hungry.

EyeViolence - 2009-07-22

And now I just feel guilty.

Riskbreaker - 2009-07-22

Watching this made me value a lot more the fact that i can eat food everyday. I liked how the kid didn't care about the neon lights and all the nightlife stuff, he's just happy to be able to eat food that he didn't had to chase in a swamp.

KnowFuture - 2009-07-22

I think the most ultimately dickish insecure thing about the North Korean regime---and I predict that it will somehow, some way be their undoing---is their policy about killing people who try to leave or asking China to give people back who manage to escape. Even the most brainwashed of people will only put up with so much. You know where you live has to suck a fairly hairy pair if modern-day China is an improvement on your situation.

mashedtater - 2009-07-22

something big and bad something we will probably get involved in is bound to happen anytime. they are preparing for it.

mashedtater - 2009-07-22

i am really going to five star all you guys who post these videos. before coming to this site, i really had no clue about north korea and what it was really like there.

funny thing is, as i talk in general to most people, no one even has a clue about this stuff. that makes me really scared and sad.

i really adore that about ya'll, poetv. you amuse AND educate me. i love you!

Aoi - 2009-07-22

Evil exists, in the form of intentionally inflicted suffering.

The ultimate challenge in dealing with it is to topple said evil without introducing even more suffering in its place, intentional or otherwise.

I truly hope that this challenge is overcome in North Korea, and soon.

THA SUGAH RAIN - 2009-07-22

Makes you feel good to live in America!

fatatty - 2009-07-22

Except America has the exact opposite problem of having so much freedom and wealth that most people gobble up everything they can and cry when they don't have enough. N. Korea will give you something to really cry about.

flotsam - 2010-05-07

In the middle of this video, there was a diet Yoplait commercial. It even showed the yogurt sitting in a fully stocked fridge.
