Oh come on ROUS, you make it sound like you were never part of our college Anime club. Like you never dragged me to Anime club in the first place! You know you loved Evangelion, Trigun, Cowboy Bebop and the first season of the Ghost in the Shell series. Don't try to deny it. You watched anime, you mainly stuck to the good anime though, none of the weird "teenage girls who transform and are naked all the time" stuff.

How can a fan base decide whether or not you like something. There are rednecks out there that like sci-fi, there's Democrats that voted down gay marriage that love the works of Orson Scott Card, is that reason enough to say that all Science Fiction is to be completely ignored? True, I don't like any Card past the less heavy Ender books, but that doesn't mean that I turn my back on the entire genre. I just move on to Scalzi and Gaiman(though of course Gaiman hasn't actually written any sci-fi really)

Wow, I didn't know I felt so strongly about this. Basically I think that there's some anime that can be seen as good. There's anime that isn't weird, or it's weird for all the right reasons. Hell, you wrote a review saying how much you loved "Paprika" within the past year. That's Anime ROUS. You watch anime. You may not watch a ton of series and you may not watch it obsessively, but you watch anime. Just be a snob about it and say that you don't watch bad anime. I love being an anime snob. I can say "Oh, I don't Watch anything made past 2005!" and come off as a jerk and no one seems to care.
