I hate to use the word "cunt", but this is the most appropriate application possible.

Smellvin - 2009-07-28 I love to use the word "cunt." It's one of the few fucking words with any goddamn shock value left.

So wait, if a quorum wasn't present, then what point is there to the senate doing ANYTHING that day?
|
Comeuppance - 2009-07-28 Apparently, she shot down a lot of things that day citing lack of quorum.
This really doesn't seem all that sensational; maybe I'm missing something.
|
IrishWhiskey - 2009-07-28 There's no way you call a quorum on a bill honoring statehood. Almost every bill that day wasn't obstructed, including the dozen that were sent on while Bachmann was there, without her objecting.
Its not sensational at all, but its also no coincidence that out of 435 members, the one with the most ties to birthers and far-right nut-jobs was there for no other reason than to object.

Sean Robinson - 2009-07-29 This is fucking retarded. Republicans have been demanding votes on basically all suspension bills (non-controversial bills that cannot be amended on the floor, but require a 2/3rds vote for passage in order to garner this legislative protection) because Democrats have used procedural methods to block Republican votes on Appropriations bills.
Bills on the suspension calendar are often debated on the House floor with very few (a dozen or less occasionally) members on the floor. After debate, many of them are agreed by a simple voice vote but either party can request a roll call vote. The general way when there are less than 25 members on the floor is to note the absence of a quorum.
Michelle Bachmann voted for the resolution when the roll call vote was held (http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2009/roll647.xml).
Additionally, the resolution was in honour of the 50th anniversary this year of Hawaii becoming a state and would have been offered regardless of who was in the White House.
Bachmann IS a loon, but this clip does not illustrate that in any degree.
In summary, fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you, you ignorant, ignorant fucks.

She's so much worse than Palin.
Does it make me a sexist to compare the two dumbest conservative women to hit the national stage lately? If it does, then sexist me up!
