Mitsubishi reloacated the entire workforce after firing them? That's not profitable!
|
infinite zest - 2009-07-29 "relocated" probably means they loaded them up on a boat, probably in a speedy and efficient fashion. Look at all the toys and clothes and pictures left behind :(

I prefer the Pripyat version of the post-apocalypse, it's much more appealing.

This is also what Atlantic City looks like.

History Channel: our writers, editors, and narrators would obviously prefer to be working for a CSI spinoff.
|
Keefu - 2009-07-29 Yeah but the other video of this island got featured already with less of a response. This was all I could submit.

I thought Japan was short on land, seems odd this place hasn't been torn down and populated with mansions by some enterprising individual. Is it polluted?
|
SolRo - 2009-07-29 I'm sure mitsubishi still owns the land and mining rights.
plus it's a tiny island, probably only room for 8 houses of the right size for people that can afford a helicopter trip every day.

During world war II they had koreans working pretty much as slaves in those mines. They made them work till death it seems.
|
Camonk - 2009-07-29 Sadly, working them to death is among the nicest things the Japanese did to the Koreans during WWII.

"What was that kaboom, Mamasan?"
"Just the Americans torpedoing our home island prefecture. Go back to sleep."

So it takes 35 years for nature to turn a human town into a deathmatch arena. Will nature never cease to amaze and delight?
|
MrBuddy - 2009-07-30 What they failed to mention is the coal deposit goes down from the island and under the sea floor, which is why they put miners there to begin with.

People after 35 years-already cracking and sagging.

"And it's gone back to lifelessness"
Cut to shot of ruins overgrown with vegetation.
Damnit TV! Stop making interesting things suck!

This show is so hilariously great. Conceptually, it's fun as hell, but it's so over-the-top full of itself that it's a pain to watch. It's like if Michael Bay was into time-lapse.
And yeah, it's retarded, but the first thing I thought when I saw this on TV was "Holy shit, that'd be an awesome FPS level."
|
Keefu - 2009-07-29 I think it was featured in Killer7 actually.

I first found out about this on the artificial owl website. It's not sad to me, and I'm wondering why the producers played that angle. I am guessing that everyone was glad to leave Shithole Island and go somewhere much nicer.
This would make a kickass vacation spot if you're a Goblin King.
