This was one of the main reasons I'd play this as a kid. Now, someone needs to put up the opening/game over screens for Tecmo Knight.

Same here. The game itself was never nearly as fun as the NES version, but this screen alone warranted dropping a few quarters in the cocktail machine at the sub shop.

I remember putting in a quarter just to see how he'd get out of that. They don't show you, they just cut back to the game. This annoyed me so much that I refused to save him the next time I died.
