Merzbau - 2009-08-05

MovieCritic - 2009-08-05

GRNKKCCSSLKKKK!?!

Hooker - 2009-08-05

Well, that's a strange comparison to be sure, but I'm not terribly offended by it.

Doctor Arcane - 2009-08-05

Lets see, Katrina cost millions if not billions in property damage, and a few lives I'm sure.

Cash for Clunkers was an auto industry bail out so popular it ran out of money. yeah, I'm confused.

CaptainJesusHood - 2009-08-05

Hooker, it takes less time to simply type "i am an idiot." FYI.

Hooker - 2009-08-05

Right. So... strange comaprison...

Toenails - 2009-08-06

THINGS THAT ARE BROKEN SHOULD WITHER AND DIE AND NEVER BE REPLACED OR BE CONSIDERED FOR REPAIR, SENATOR. MY CLUNKER SHOULD NOT BE CASHED, IT SHOULD BE FORCED TO RUST IN MY FRONT YARD ON BLOCKS LIKE ALL MY OTHER CARS.

Camonk - 2009-08-06

Also like New Orleans, which is why the two things are so fucking similar!

Tuan Jim - 2009-08-05

Old people: Dumb as three flavors of hell.

Desidiosus - 2009-08-05

That's the problem. Not all of the teabaggers, birthers, and other raving loonies of the right wing are old. Some of them are my own age >:(

Toenails - 2009-08-06

It's not about old people. It's about white people.

Okay, old white people.

Senator_Unger - 2009-08-05

We're quickly approaching the point where "old people" are no longer the adorable "Greatest Generation" and are becoming those bland, postwar assholes so I'm having less and less of a problem letting Medicare run out.

phalsebob - 2009-08-06

If you think the "Greatest Generation" is a political pain in the ass, wait till Boomers go geriatric. (I am from the future and they are particularly crazy).

Hooper_X - 2009-08-06

The people who were old enough to actually serve in WW2 are now in their 80s and dying off in droves - these people are their younger brothers/sisters who feel like having lived through that era gives them the same level of Patriotism Street Cred, or they're from the early waves of kids conceived during/after WW2 - your Proto-Boomers, essentially.

The next 40 years are going to be a LONG STRANGE TRIP.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2009-08-06

rabble rabble rabble rabble rabble

zatojones - 2009-08-06

teethsalad - 2009-08-06

oh man, that's rich

Rudy - 2009-08-06

To republicans, "Katrina" wasn't a hurricane. It was a PR blunder by the previous presidential administration. If you asked them if it had any sociological implications, they would tell you that it gave poor blacks the opportunity to loot.

Mara Liasson will never meet anyone hurt by Katrina. But she knows who they are through racist, apocryphal stories on right-wing websites. They are a talking point.

Squidmojo - 2009-08-06

I'm sick of Baby Boomers.
