Mexico is a real fucking mess right now.

Camonk - 2009-08-08

Yeah it's real sad cause it wasn't that long that Mexico was basically a model of...

Man I can't even be sarcastic about how Mexico has basically always been a mess. It is sad though. That part wasn't sarcastic. (Brown people are savages.)

heyitslozeau - 2009-08-10

no really camonk. not really at all, mexico before tensions with america was doing alright.

Jimmy Labatt - 2009-08-07

Fix yer tags

socialist_hentai - 2009-08-07

reverse tags with description.

Also: Hell yeah copfight!

urbanelf - 2009-08-07

I think a "mexican standoff" tag would be entirely appropriate.

GlennFinito - 2009-08-07

they just call it a "standoff" down there

zatojones - 2009-08-07

nothing says "fight" like the sound of rifles cocking

I guess the Federales didn't want the locals to take those guys into custody presumably because the local cops were in the drug lords' pocket

Tuan Jim - 2009-08-07

Explanation please.

I'm just going to assume massive corruption and drug dealers with entire police forces entirely in their pocket are involved.

The Faghorn - 2009-08-07

But enough about the US, someone explain this Mexico situation.

Riskbreaker - 2009-08-07

"I'm just going to assume massive corruption and drug dealers with entire police forces entirely in their pocket are involved."

Basically, that, in this video the federals are taking local polices that have drug connections. Partners of the local police flip out and try to block the whole thing. More shit goes on, but no deaths.

sosage - 2009-08-07

...and the federals are working with other cartels as I understand it. I'm just adding to the "Mexico is a mess" noise happening here.

Riskbreaker - 2009-08-07

Tags fixed.

Smellvin - 2009-08-07

So each side is being paid by different, rival drug cartels?

Riskbreaker - 2009-08-07

Yeah, that too, the thing is, even if some of those guys really don't want to get involved in this mess, their superiors are getting drug money too. Also, all those drug cartel goons that get caught? They keep operating inside the jails, doing everything from coordinating kidnappings, executions, human traffic and even doing phone extortions. The whole thing is seriously a mess no matter from which angle is seen. Mexico is the new Colombia.

Freeman Gordon - 2009-08-07

We need someone from Mexico who can reinforce that Mexico is a total shithole.

zatojones - 2009-08-07

They're all keeping their mouth shut lest this happen to them

That Exile link is fantastic. I thought the newspaper went under?

Hooper_X - 2009-08-08

These five stars are for Zato's link - holy shit, four people died and that's a tragedy, but one of the gunmen slips and falls flat on his fucking ass in the middle of the shooting. His buddy has to come in after him and pick up his gun.

Excellent.

Menudo con queso - 2009-08-08

The Exile got driven out of Russia and now they're a web-only publication, not a paper anymore. But still awesome.

All credit to whatever videographer kept filming even as guns were cocking all around. I would have been miles away with ruined pants after the first chk-klick-klick.

phalsebob - 2009-08-07

Also need a "Badges? BADGES?!" tag

Species - 2009-08-08

Thank you.

fermun - 2009-08-08

I retroactively agree and make this a linked tag.
