India is like an African country... IN ASIA! :D You see... they LOOK African!

I hope this is an elaborate troll. Really really hope.

bluiker - 2009-08-09

I can't watch this all the way through, so 5 for that, I guess. If it is a troll, she has the passive-aggressive smugness down pat as she tells the other girl that her culture of non-pointy-eyed Africans is wrong and she'll burn in hell for it, so she should really really think about converting and maybe turning ignorant and white, too, so they can all get along, as God intended.

If this is fake, she's my new hero.

If it's not, she's probably going to be bringing us all sorts of amusing content for years to come.

Bort - 2009-08-09

I don't think it's fake; it's a meeting between two people who haven't ever been exposed to other religious outlooks, and one who has been immersed in them since childhood.

"I feel Krishna."

"Christian, Krishna, like Christian?"

The ending is what sells it for me, in that it's understated and lacks the "punch" of a faked video. The two white girls cannot imagine anyone coming from a radically different background, which is why they're getting frustrated; Saraa's response suggests to me she's been through this sort of thing before.

foopants - 2009-08-09

Some say Christ was based on Krishna. There are many similarities, although I admit to not having done my homework.

+5 for youth ignorance... I've known many who've overcome it, avoided many who haven't.

Urist - 2009-08-09

fake

Feels like some sort of school project...

Of course, I won't rate it because I am not 100% sure and if it is real, what the hell?

Fuck it, five stars either way.

Old_Zircon - 2009-08-09

Seconded

Syd Midnight - 2009-08-09

I am disappointed because on the PoE News front page, the thumbnail for "Converting an Indian to Christianity" was a Duck Dodgers cartoon. I was hoping they were related.

Hugo Gorilla - 2009-08-09

This is damn hilarious.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2009-08-09

The perfect girl for Chris Chan has been found!

Cena_mark - 2009-08-09

"I had two friends over one regular one and one Indian one."

biclops - 2009-08-09

India, it's like an Asian person and an African person had a baby.

Document - 2009-08-09

Saraa is my new hero.

- So, I have to go home and eat... my mother cooked rice...
- Rice? Is that all you eat?
- It's... it's been fun. Bye.

There is a split second there - just one tiny moment - when the Re-borns realize that oh fuck, we've acted like complete fucktards towards a nice person for a fucking stupid reason. Sure, the girls'll retell the story over and over to other churchfolk, regurgitate who-said-what and imitate body language until the Hindu is depicted as thoroughly heathen and beyond God's graces, but still. For a glorious second they knew how emotionally manipulative and shitty they were acting, and the cognitive dissonance borne of being both a Good Christian and a Good Evangelist.

If it's fake, they all deserve a fucking Oscar.

heyitslozeau - 2009-08-09

it's totally fake, poorly acted, but still hilarious.

Old_Zircon - 2009-08-09

Yeah, the way they keep stifling laughter and then cutting the video is a definite tip-off.

But it's also hilarious.

jesustweak - 2009-08-09

Fake and Brillliant

THA SUGAH RAIN - 2009-08-09

These are young girls and they are talking about themselves, but all of them are Zeros on the binary "would you?" system. So, -1.

phalsebob - 2009-08-09

"No. I've got to go eat my rice."

They don't hit upon every evangelical talking point, but that would take a solid thirty minutes, unless they just held up a list.

Binro the Heretic - 2009-08-09

Tough to call whether it's fake or not.

I know way too many people who act just like this for real to say for sure these girls were just trolling.

Document - 2009-08-09

That's what depressed me about the whole thing. I know folks that act like this in real life, down to the transparency of their convictions and wafer-thin excuses for personalities.

But yeah, it's a fake. The girl that posted this had previously uploaded a video where she claimed to be pregnant and, as an answer to critics demanding to know why she didn't use protection, she held up a picture of Pope Benedict with NO TO THE PILL written underneath it. In her next video she admitted that the pregnancy was faked and why was everyone getting mad at her for "curving the truth"?

This kinda stuff restores a little of my faith in them Youth of Today. This failed conversion skit is actually really clever and well done.

Binro the Heretic - 2009-08-09

Okay, that is all kinds of awesome.

These ladies all have great futures ahead of them. Anyone who could pull off a troll like this can do anything.

jesustweak - 2009-08-09

The Andy Kaufman of a new generation.

delicatessen - 2009-08-09

"I had two friends over one regular one and one Indian one."

She just meant that the dothead was constipated.

phydeaux - 2009-08-09

fake accent but nice troll

Avengingatheist - 2009-08-09

I've met enough people like those "regular girls" to believe this is real. I really hope it is fake.

j lzrd / swift idiot - 2009-08-10

Terribly accurate satire. Satire which is accurate and terrible.

Rape Van Winkle - 2009-08-11

This is so obviously fake. And not very entertaining.

You guys are a bunch of idiots.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2009-08-13

Some responses from this dumb bitch:

"Youth group. That is on my resume and beats anything, god will get me into a good college."

"Well it's not as hard for you because of two words - affirmative action."

"Well it's not just believing in God, it's having the very close relationship like I have with God, it gets you places. God believes in nepotism."

"No. Atheism is lacking a belief in God (a weak atheist may also be agnostic, a strong atheist might be considered dogmatic)
Agnosticism say that it's impossible to know either way. True agnostics would give it a 50-50 chance, but most people who are agnostics lean towards either atheism or theism.

I think you're thinking about something more like deism."

Oh, I see. As an agnostic it's nice to have that cleared up for me. I didn't know it was so mathematical! If this isn't a troll, she's a genius, which I doubt. I wanted to believe...
