This is why the rest of the world thinks Americans are stupid.

cognitivedissonance - 2009-08-13

And not our low standard of education?

He reminds me of Chevy Chase when he was on coke.

To paraphrase Frankie Boyle, "there's the face behind the gun. The kind of guy that listens to one of John Lennon's solo albums, goes out and buys a harpoon."

He's just got those eyes. Those scouring-Catcher-in-the-Rye-for-life-guidance eyes. Unsettling.

Lurchi - 2009-08-13

He's got those scouring-Ron-Paul-for-guidance eyes.

or Ayn Rand, or Orson Scott Card, or Ted Nugent, or etc etc.

"CRAZY EYES" tag, please.

phalsebob - 2009-08-13

Yes, a small army of heavily armed dullards with twitchy eyes on the lawn of a church. That's how Jesus would've wanted it.

heyitslozeau - 2009-08-13

look, im a gun guy. I believe in gun rights. I carry a concealed gun most days. But fuck, you dont bring your gun anywhere secret service are, or the president of the united states is.

fuck.

Isn't it nice knowing that these people are making us look bad?

mon666ster - 2009-08-13

Can you imagine if people had shown up at anti-Bush rallies with guns?

badideasinaction - 2009-08-13

I'd take that a bit further... imagine Bush let the public anywhere near him without a strip search. This isn't an anti-Obama rally, this is to a freaking Obama speech.

How about "imagine if anti-Bush protesters showed up at the white house with guns".

Toenails - 2009-08-13

Didn't have time to make a sign, huh? That's your excuse for carrying a pro-secession poster at a presidential speech on health care? Might as well have taken an "Austin 3:16" or a "God Hates Fags" sign with him.

I don't care much for guns. But if you want to arm yourself in public, and do it in a way that is completely within the law, that's all gravy with me. But when protesting, it would be great if you could stay on topic.

What's that? He brought the gun with him as a political statement and wished others would have done the same? Because it would send some kind of message? Never mind, I guess the gun was inappropriately off-topic also.

Juice Eggs McKenna - 2012-11-17

Also it has been brought to my attention that a number of you are stroking guns, therefore I will step aside and open up the floor.

pastorofmuppets - 2009-08-14

If I am understanding this correctly...it's appropriate to bring a gun certain places but not others? Like schools and presidential speeches?

Stars to the police for apparently handling this guy with a lot more consideration than he actually deserved.
