you think they can't get any dumber, you think wrong

teethsalad - 2009-08-25

i'm so sick of these fair weather constitutional scholars

patriot act? give em' carte blanche! torture, massive contracting fraud, and thousands of US soldiers dead in a war started under false pretenses? trillions pissed into sand dunes? the price of freedom!

a sensible, measured approach to breaking the strangehold the insurance companies have on health care? RAWR RAWR NAZI COMMIE RAWR END OF CIVILIZATION RAWR RAWR MY COUNTRY TEABAG HURRRRRRRRR

at least mccain keeps it as classy as possible

teethsalad - 2009-08-25

also, i never understood the disconnect between:

purpose of military: to protect the well-being and safety of american citizens, keeping them alive
purpose of health care: to protect the well-being and health of american citizens, keeping them alive

goddammit, you assholes, do we have to start splicing tiny beards and turbans on diseases before you'll get with the program or what? lack of health care in this country kills more americans in one year than 9/11 ever did

Toenails - 2009-08-25

BOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Go back to France you fucking Canadian!!!

wait, that makes too much sense...

Go back to Italy you fucking Zimbabwean!!!

pastorofmuppets - 2009-08-25

we have the technology to make the actual tiny turbans and put them onto cells.

in addition, it's the best plan anyone has put forward, i say we go with it.

teethsalad - 2009-08-25

if you trust the gub'mnt to wield NUCLEAR FUCKING WEAPONS, but not to run a fraction of the healthcare system, well, you're a fucking idiot, and good luck with all that cognitive dissonance rattling around in that skull of yours

pastorofmuppets - 2009-08-26

you misunderstood me. i was saying that if we made little turbans for the cells then we could get people to hate the diseases and not worry about government spending re: health care, just like 9/12 was a good time to be a TSA dude in need of an aeron chair

pastorofmuppets - 2009-08-26

Plus no one trusts anyone with nukes, it's just one of those things that you have to ignore if you want to sleep at night. The logical response to that stuff is the one that would land you in straitjacket.

teethsalad - 2009-08-26

i was ranting to myself, mostly - its not directed at you, pastorofmuppets - and here i go again - if you are of the mindset that thinks we'll be spending too much, i'd argue the rich aren't being taxed enough. the notion that the wealthy are suffering brahmins who create all that's right in the world and are constantly being oppressed and are being kept from fulfilling their true potential by the evils of regulation and taxation is a festering, dangerous notion leftover from the worst days of reaganomics. they take, and take, and take - and then act as if they suddenly became wealthy in a social vacuum, ignoring the efforts of the legions of people they rode upward on. show me anyone who claims they make 250k+ a year without exploiting anyone or the society they live in, and i'll show you a deluded, greedy goddamned liar. the only mechanism to keep these hoarding colluding bastards accountable is government.

i'm a little pissed off about all this

CaptainJesusHood - 2009-08-25

Couldn't even make it to the booing. I blacked out when the clapping started.

StanleyPain - 2009-08-25

IT'S UNCONSTITUTIONAL FOR OUR GOVERNMENT TO RUN ITSELF ACCORDING TO THE RULES AND GUIDELINES SET FORTH IN THE CONSTITUTION!!!!

I NEVER GOT PAST THE 4TH GRADE BUT I KNOW MORE THAN YOU ABOUT THE GOVERNMENT AND HEALTHCARE.

pastorofmuppets - 2009-08-25

jesus christ that first question. it's literally just a string of words that sound political.

Nikon - 2009-08-26

I can make random dialogue like that with a couple tables and 1D100.

KnowFuture - 2009-08-26

It doesn't even sound political. "How is the president getting by with all this money, it's against the constitution"?? A goddamn monkey with a Blackberry that has that thing where it finishes the word for you could have come up with that.

charmlessman - 2009-08-26

"Bud iss aginsa Consiushun!"

Saying something is, "against the Constitution" is the political equivalent of saying, "that just ain't right."
It's a meaningless phrase the conveys willful ignorance.

StanleyPain - 2009-08-26

Clearly you people have never read the Constitution. You're forgetting the important sub-amendment: "The government can't not use no moneys for reasons like this."

pastorofmuppets - 2009-08-26

There's a lot of things we do and have done that are unconstitutional.

This lady's problem is that she is confusing things not mentioned in the constitution with things that violate what *is* mentioned. The former falls under the elastic clause, the latter is legitimately unconstitutional.

Louis Armstrong - 2009-08-25

Five for classy McCain.

I was watching a clip of McCain just now back when the election was threatening mob rule by these people. The video was fucking identical to this. The more things change, the more they are against the constitution.

Sudan no1 - 2009-08-26

I really wouldn't have had a problem with McCain winning..
until some neo-con idiot made him pick sarah palin for a running mate.

wowowowow

Vaidency - 2009-08-26

I feel bad for McCain. It must be so embarassing right now to be an even halfway moderate republican.

Also, was that woman implying it's unconstitutional for the president to spend money?

foopants - 2009-08-26

This political shit is so boring.

teethsalad - 2009-08-26

you're boring

Walt Henderson - 2009-08-26

Fuck you, foopants.

Squidmojo - 2009-08-26

Apathy and ignorance are boring.

Eat a dick.

foopants - 2009-08-26

NO YOU GUYS EAT A DICK LOL ♥ i am boring aren't I oh god

foopants - 2009-08-27

Lol @ apathy and ignorance... I don't get my news from PoeTV - this is boring in the context of humor or evil or whatever- it's played out and boring. I can't believe this was voted up and powder farts was voted off ... I am losing respect for you guys

Jet Bin Fever - 2009-08-26

I always enjoy hearing McCain pedal back from insane bullshit from the audience. It seems to happen every time he talks. Nice to see a respectful discussion, even if I disagree with him 66.6% of the time.

SolRo - 2009-08-26

If there is a hell, this is what it would be like for McCain.

cognitivedissonance - 2009-08-26

Truly a hell of his own making.

1394 - 2009-08-26

My friends.

gnpaaron - 2009-08-26

my friends

RomancingTrain - 2009-08-26

*blink* *blink* *blink*

mcsancherson - 2009-08-26

its not back pedaling unless he said it and then recanted it you doofus

mcsancherson - 2009-08-26

now who is the doofus

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2009-08-26

God, this is depressing. McCain still thinks that his side isn't made up entirely of racist morons.

Udderdude - 2009-08-26

I would love to see him snap and call his entire base a bunch of loons, on national TV. That would be pretty awesome.

Caminante Nocturno - 2009-08-26

I always joked about the far right reducing their talking points to a senseless chain of trigger words delivered in a melodramatic tone.

Lo and behold, the question at the start of this video...

That guy - 2009-08-26

I've been waiting for McCain to full-out blow a gasket for about 8 years, but he never quite does. I'm glad he lost the election, but when I imagine the stuff he might blow a gasket on, I would be 100% on his side, particularly about reform and torture. He always finds a way to choke it down and toe the line for the GOP, which is sad when it's Palin and Dubya representing people who ask questions like the one McCain got here.

Wait, why did McCain pick Palin again?

Seriously, McCain confuses the crap out of me.

Kieran27 - 2009-08-26

I thought once Obama won the election, most comedians would be out of work since they lost their best material when Bush left office. Now I see they didn't lose anything. It's more like they traded up to an entire group of people everyone can relate to. Just start with "There's this one guy I know who attends town hall meetings..." and the material writes itself.

Ponasty - 2009-08-26

Five big stars for Mac.
A class act if ever there was one. i cant believe the GOP has derailed this way. This is the aftermath of Rovian politics.
a stoopid electorate that is outraged at what they dont understand. Meanwhile poor McCain has to go out there and try not to strangle these asshats.

Camonk - 2009-08-26

Except that he started them off on this whole thing. He wound them up during the election.

He is not a class act. He is a classless, hateful old bastard who comes off classy because he has one or two limits and he, after wading through waist-high bullshit, suddenly decides the bullshit is one inch too high. He's a worthless, back-ward thinking relic.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2009-08-28

Yes. This.

That and he is a total hypocrite in every way.

Lauritz Melchior - 2009-08-26

McCain should have left the vitriol during the election and been more like *this* McCain.

wart - 2009-08-26

He's talking to these people like they're an unruly class of 5-year-old kids.

Which is vastly overestimating them.

Big Muddy - 2009-09-09

My tax dollars didn't pay for this Constitution!
