Considering he majored in geology and that these people are trying to "educate" him otherwise about his main area of expertise, it's not surprising. I don't support the belittling of the average religious guy or gal, but I think people like this who try to tread upon and spread deceit in legitimate scientific fields deserve the sort of response like this that they get.

It is really depressing how many people never question, and just buy it all, hook line and sinker.

It's not because it means they're wrong, it's because it means that everyone they know or trust is wrong. Who's going to be the first person in a congregation to support evolution and get castigated from the community?

I agree, watching someone who probably knows how to change his sparkplugs and thinks that makes him a scientist is just amazing to watch. I checked out GoodScienceForYou's profile. Here's a few choice bits of a man who clearly doesn't get it:

"People call me the "teacher's teacher"; "Renaissance man"; "ass hole, liar"; and other concepts that they project on me. Most loving people who are not believers in HEMG are treated badly by society. I spent 17 years in Yoga to get free of delusions."

"I study science and everything far away from the intense need of others to tell me how to think or how to learn."

Especially when their reasoning boils down to, "this is too complicated for me to understand with zero education on the subject, therefore it must be wrong"
