"Tubular Bells" is incredible. Also, I noticed the theme from "Twin Peaks" is on there, as is something by David Byrne. So the music ain't all bad. 'Course, that doesn't mean you should buy some ridiculous compilation off of the tee-vee. Then again, it is "straight from Europe".

Hergest Ridge (the followup) is even better.

Angelo Badalamenti was still pretty solid, but David Byrne had some terrible, terrible solo material (and some that was good), so his presence isn't conclusive.

Mike Oldfield is pretty much great. Back in college, one of my professors talked about seeing him perform this pretty much solo back in the 70s.

I also agree with Old Zircon that "Hergest Ridge" is a better album. The original "Tubular Bells" is Oldfield's most famous work but it's not nearly his best.
