his number in SC is (803) 939-0041 and fax (803) 939-0078, in D.C. it's (202) 225-2452 and his fax is (202) 225-2455.

Caminante Nocturno - 2009-09-09

Either they're swamped with calls or they've unplugged the phone because they're swamped.

Gayperson - 2009-09-09

oh, darn. maybe this then -

The Townleybomb - 2009-09-09

Don't bother with calling or writing him-- unless you're in his district, it will be ignored anyway.

If you really want him to hear you, you can donate money to his challenger in 2010 here: http://www.actblue.com/page/kossacks4miller. They've raised over K in the past few hours. It goes to Rob Miller, the Iraq war veteran who almost beat him in 2008. This is probably not the kind of stunt that someone in a very vulnerable seat should pull....

RockBolt - 2009-09-10

Rob Miller just got from me

joelkazoo - 2009-09-13

Just called the SC office, and they're there on a Sunday, surprisingly. Anyway, I told the guy to tell Joe I think he's a fucking prick, that is all.

Only a matter of time before the agents show up...

I imagine what went thru their heads when they heard "YOU LIE!":
Obama:Is Wayne Brady gonna have to choke a bitch?
Biden: You disappointed me...AGAIN, son!
Pelosi: These kids these days with their sassy mouths...

TimbolinoBilchard - 2009-09-09

Even in the parliamentary system you can't call someone a liar. All you can do is harrumph them.

Caminante Nocturno - 2009-09-09

This outburst got the faithful barking like the well-trained dogs they are.

Walt Henderson - 2009-09-09

I made the mistake of going to school in SC. It is a shitty state, filled with stupid people who won't stop bitching about having to pay taxes despite the fact that they regularly get more $$$ from the FedGov than they pay.

wtf japan - 2009-09-10

"That's what you said last time, dipshit! I've got a solution, you're a dick! South Carolina, represent!"

wtf japan - 2009-09-10

This is the best I can do for context: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X8Hek5fDjQE

This movie is fucking prophetic.

Camonk - 2009-09-09

He didn't want to shout "I'm an asshole!" at the president of the US, so he took it down a level. The message is the same.

racetraitor - 2009-09-09

Stay classy, Joe Wilson.

ProfessorChaos - 2009-09-09

The insincere apology has already been issued.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/09/09/joe-wilson-apologizes -for_n_281541.html

CaptainJesusHood - 2009-09-09

Not fucking good enough. Resign, you infantile cunt.

Wander - 2009-09-09

"Rep. John Dingell (D-Mich.), the longest serving member in House history, said he was not impressed by the GOP antics. "Well, you've got to understand: They're Republicans. They're just doing what comes natural," he told HuffPost. "

ProfessorChaos - 2009-09-10

The most infuriating thing about this, i think, that Joe Wilson actually THINKS that this is a lie. We will NOT be providing health care to illegal immigrants with this bill. Period. How did this guy get his facts so twisted that he thinks this is a lie?

SolRo - 2009-09-10

to ProfessorChaos

"They're Republicans. They're just doing what comes natural,"

Jeff Fries - 2009-09-10

@Chaos: Not on purpose; the state of California doesn't provide marijuana to just anyone either

futurebot - 2009-09-10

you idiot, the bill if anything REQUIRES undocumented workers to buy health insurance

twinkieafternoon - 2009-09-10

Good to see that elected representatives still can't figure out what the differences between sitting in on the President giving an address and heckling the unpopular kid giving the announcements over the school loudspeaker are.

bac - 2009-09-10

What was up with the sign being held up at the end? I'm confused.

gambol - 2009-09-10

Politics aside, this is among the more shameful things I've seen.

cognitivedissonance - 2009-09-10

WE'RE NOT THE MINORITY, WE'RE OBVIOUSLY TALKING LOUDER.

Riskbreaker - 2009-09-10

Obama's face on the preview image speaks for itself.

Enjoy - 2009-09-10

Well Obama did avoid the truth. There will be no checking to see if someone is a citizen before giving them the free healthcare.

The Townleybomb - 2009-09-10

H.R. 3200: Sec 246 — NO FEDERAL PAYMENT FOR UNDOCUMENTED ALIENS

Nothing in this subtitle shall allow Federal payments for affordability credits on behalf of individuals who are not lawfully present in the United States.

The law bans payments for illegal aliens. Anyone who denies that is a liar. Any lawmaker who complains about the issue without making a good-faith attempt to pass a healthcare bill that resolves it is taking advantage of brainwashed scum like you and doesn't care about the issue.

Go the fuck back to trolling the News forums you un-American piece of shit.

Enjoy - 2009-09-10

Townleytard,

None of the medical professionals will be allowed to ask for legal status so it turns out the congressman was, in fact, right in calling His Majesty a liar.

We have this problem today with emergency rooms. Jose can swim the Rio Grande and demand care, in Spanish, and the emergency room can do nothing about it.

StanleyPain - 2009-09-10

What does someone asking for emergency room care have to do with A) having your legal status checked and B) receiving funds from nationalized health-care? Right now illegal citizens can recieve emergency health care, but they are billed for it like anyone without health insurance assuming they are actually accepted in the hospital (which doesn't always happen) How would anything change? Aliens who don't pay now...DON'T PAY. And, if they're not getting federal healthcare monies, they still won't be paying their bills. I don't see an explanation how the problem is either decreased or increased, just fear-mongering bullshit. In fact, if anything, a lot of what's in this healthcare reform package would make it easier for ERs to pay for expenses incurred in caring for people who can't pay their bills.

William Burns - 2009-09-10

Death panels are okay, so long as they are English-only?

cognitivedissonance - 2009-09-10

I'm having difficulty understanding why human compassion is so difficult to comprehend here.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2009-09-10

I'm just posting to respond to Enjoy.

Dude, even if Obama was lying (mind you I don't really give a shit if he is) doesn't it strike you as mildly irritating that no one bothered to heckle Bush when he had a million people killed in a trumped up war so he and his buddies could get rich but Obama wants to save people's lives and all of a sudden it's okay for Congress to scream at him in session?

Seriously, that is some fucked up shit.

sosage - 2009-09-10

@Rodents: those were mostly brown people being killed. So, I mean, making sure brown people also don't get health care kind of follows along that line.

For real though, Obama needs to just fucking shove back for once. Maybe while in mid-push, he shoves the damn health care bill through their face, bursting an arm sized tunnel through their stupid skulls and spike that mother fucker into the "it's legal now" in zone that these retards are standing in front of.

MongoMcMichael - 2009-09-10

If Jose could swim through the Rio Grande, then he wouldn't need emergency care.

Camonk - 2009-09-10

"The Townleytard"
Seriously Enjoy? You're going to act like Cena, now? You know most people here think of you in a very different category, but if you're going to steal his schtick or pass the keyboard over to him whenever you're backed into a corner, then jesus dude just give up. Look, I know you end up backed into the corner whenever facts are involved. This is because you're wrong about everything. But that's not really what this post is about.

Enjoy - 2009-09-10

MongoMcMichael - 2009-09-10

MUFFLED BOOING HEARD AT EVERY PRESIDENTIAL ADDRESS OF CONGRESS IS EXACTLY THE SAME THING AS CARRYING DEROGATORY SIGNS AND AUDIBLY AND CLEARLY ACCUSING THE PRESIDENT OF INTENTIONALLY MISLEADING THE LEGISLATIVE BRANCH.

Whoops! Enjoy got us on this one! Where's that nigger's birth certificate?

prang - 2009-09-10

Biden and Pelosi's reactions totally make this.

TimbolinoBilchard - 2009-09-10

I think Pelosi's reaction is "disappointed mom."

StanleyPain - 2009-09-10

Rumor coming from journalists in the audience is that Michelle Obama mouthed "Daamnnn" after he shouted it.

Xenocide - 2009-09-10

Oh, good. I was afraid the GOP wouldn't make themselves look like a bunch of shrill crybabies during this thing.

MaulLove - 2009-09-10

People are now donating tens of thousands of dollars to Rob Miller, Joe Wilson's opponent: http://www.motherjones.com/mojo/2009/09/congressman-joe-liar-wilso n-0

ProfessorChaos - 2009-09-10

That makes me happy.

glendower - 2009-09-10

Does anyone think this historic lack of disrespect for the president has to do with the fact he's black? Did Jimmy Carter ever get this crap?

Bort - 2009-09-10

I remember laughter during one of Clinton's early State of the Union addresses when he was talking about a balanced budget. He responded to the laughers by reminding them he was using numbers generated by Republicans.

minimalist - 2009-09-10

So the response was even more laughter, right?

Hooper_X - 2009-09-10

This guy is a turd, but he also got EXACTLY what he wanted - the entire media is paying attention to his little snitfit instead of actually discussing what Obama had to say about anything. So good job, Joe Wilson (Asshole - SC). You managed to derail the debate by throwing yourself in front of it.

I hope you're proud, you fuck.

MongoMcMichael - 2009-09-10

I think this is actually sort of a rallying cry for people who assumed the job was done simply because we finally got Obama in office. The mainstream coverage has been really outrageous, and I imagine this will actually bolster the President's popularity. Moderate Republican critics are shitting themselves over what the GOP has become, and they might actually be more conducive to tampering down the debate following this spectacle.

Then again, I might also be wearing a party hat and typing this from my Lunar Doom Bunker.

However, this website went up, like, hours after the tirade: http://joewilsonisyourpreexistingcondition.com/

spikestoyiu - 2009-09-10

What a fucking diaper baby.

memedumpster - 2009-09-10

All seven rusted gears in my brain are laboriously turning to combine the word "taliban" with whatever words these people use to describe themselves into one, elegant, flows off the tongue meme. This will be a prelude to my "Vote blue? Move to Canada!" campaign to be launched the next time a Republican is president, wherein people will be encouraged to move to Canada, join their army, and be the front line of an invasion of the United States. Nuclear scientists who vote blue will get preferential treatment in the Canadian States of America.

chumbucket - 2009-09-10

tourettes

teethsalad - 2009-09-10

joe wilson needs a hearty, good ol' fashioned curbstomp

motherfuck the GOP, now, and forever

Thwe "O" has disrespected the office, and this country. I say we fire his ass.

Now now you little libtard. At least get your insults right. I am NOT a Republican. Used to be a Dem but got smart. I am an Independent American voter. Now go back to your class. Isn't detention hall for brats over by now?

maggieodae (36 minutes ago) Show Hide
And the "O" is only interested in destroying this country. He is a Marxist a*hole

Cleaner82 - 2009-09-10

No one wants to bear the mark of shame.

Testicles of Doom - 2009-09-10

Five for Obama not stooping to infantile levels.

Hooper_X - 2009-09-11

He did give a mighty powerful Shut The Fuck Up look, though. It's only there for a second, but it's a good one.

charmlessman - 2009-09-10

I'm pretty sure Nancy Pelosi just shot laser out of her eyes.

j lzrd / swift idiot - 2009-10-01

I am surprised this has not degenerated into one of those films you see on those MOST SHOCKING VIDEOS of some 2/3rds world country's legislature throwing desks and microphone stands and chairs at each other.

MALAISE.

MMMMMMMAAAAAAAAAALLLLLAAAAAAAAIIIIIIISSSSSSEEEEEEEE.
