Stairway to Heaven?

SolRo - 2009-09-13

Yeah, game conventions apperently played wierd music back then, instead of non-stop generic techno

Had I been there, I would have been wearing a Led Zeppelin t-shirt. That one blue homoerotic Swan Song one.

That graphics demo that first appears at 2:15 was called "Swinth" and was pretty awesome.

I miss being able to hold joysticks in 1 hand.

Were nerds slightly skinnier on average back then?

I'm old.

Ponasty - 2009-09-13

Yes nerds were skinnier then. Its cuz soda had real sugar instead of the high fructose corn syrup shit they have today.

Rape Ape - 2009-09-13

You have to remember that what a "nerd" was back then is inherently different than what they are today. Back then, nerds were typically intelligent, and they were enthusiasts who actively sought out this shit, and were fascinated by technology. Now, nerds are more likely to be lazy people who play WoW and spend too much time on the internet.

Syd Midnight - 2009-09-13

Good point. You had to walk to someone's house to trade games or play multiplayer. Now your PC does everything but shit for you.

fredfrankel - 2009-09-14

I think yesterdays nerds are todays geeks
