This is almost akin to the healthcare 'debate' right now. This was 30 years ago and people then were afraid that you couldn't get your free channels anymore. It's 2009 and if you have an antenna you can still get the same basic local channels for free.

New options don't always equal forced alternatives.

I think that the "sign the petition in the lobby of your theater" may be the key to this...perhaps movie theaters trying to keep TV from getting better / having more channels. I dunno, if not at least I started a rumor.
