They did a great job of coming up with really eerie and haunting visuals on this show with hardly any budget at all (eg the Otherworld New York, which was just New York with some kind of polarity switched film. The result was that this show had a major formative effect on my sense of aesthetics. Anyone else?
That music was also way ahead of its time, part hearts of space, part Pretty Hate Machine.
I loved this show when it first aired.
It lasted something like 8 episodes.
My brother and I did not understand the concept of cancellation at the time and were heartbroken.
I remember that one. The family finds themselves in a region that looks like one big stereotypical 50's sitcom surburban-land, where a so-called "Church of Artificial Intelligence" dominates. The two teens play a Beatles tune during a school talent show and become overnight sensations, and stir rebellion and such.
This is one of those shows that I ask people about and they have no clue. The family walked down that long spiral pit into nothingness? and the upside down guns? nothing?
It's kind of like when my asked me if I remembered Jayce and the Rollers and I looked at him like he was crazy.
