Just a few clown facts that I learned about when the Circus was last in town...

There are three kinds of clowns: the Whiteface clown, the Augustine Clown, and the Character Clown. The Whiteface Clown has a base of white makeup and then his trademarked style of paint over it. The Augustine Clown does not have the white paint base and will have his skin visible on parts of his face. The Character Clown is the same as the Augustine, but he will have a theme going, usually Rodeo or Hobo style. Now, there is actually a hierarchy within the clown community, as the Whiteface clown is on top, with the Augustine under him and Character Clowns under everyone. This means you will always see Whiteface clowns doing tricks on everyone, and Augustine Clowns tricking only other Augustine and also Character Clowns, while Character clowns usually get shat upon.

Also, I fucking love clowns.
