I was going to say something about how this wouldn't go over well in America, but it appears that the stairs are leading out of some sort of mass transit station, so it's not like those types of stairs really exist for most commuters here to begin with.

Every morning when I wake up I hear a pretentious piano theme similar to the first 30 seconds of this video in my head. It makes me feel like I'm doing something really special as I make my way down the dark hallway to the toilet and only fades away as I haul it out and empty last nights alcohol into the waiting porcelain.
