I forgot how awesome the animation was in this show.

Batman: The David Cronenberg Episode.

Caminante Nocturno - 2009-10-22

One of my favorite things about the Clayface episodes has always been the music.

Squeamish - 2009-10-22

Holy shit, that was well done.

Every time I see the collected cartoons at the store, I never pick them up.

Maybe it's time I should.

NewHeavenSalesman - 2009-10-22

Some of Batman: TAS's highest points were when the animators could sneak in really creepy and violent imagery.

Of course, the best example is Heart of Steel, which featured (spoilers?) REALLY brutal deaths for robots impersonating humans.

Xenocide - 2009-10-22

Could it be that he had a soul, Alfred? A soul of silicon, but a soul nonetheless.

Camonk - 2009-10-22

Not getting to kick Clayface's ass was a disappointment in the video game.

Desidiosus - 2009-10-22

I always liked what they did with the otherwise minor villains, especially the Clock King.

Xenocide - 2009-10-22

It's easy to forget that before this show came along, there was nothing to Mr. Freeze except "guy with an ice gun."

fatatty - 2009-10-22

From the Mr. Freeze Wikipedia entry:

Mr. Freeze, real name Dr. Victor Fries (pronounced as Victor "Frees" or "Freeze"), Ph.D, is a DC Comics supervillain, an enemy of [[Batman]. He totally sucks mad dicks when he fights and looooves to smoke marijuana.

Camonk - 2009-10-22

Dini and company really dropped the ball by not emphasizing those aspects of the character.

oogaBooga - 2009-10-22

I always felt really bad for clayface in this one.

BornAgainCannibal - 2009-10-22

The best part about this show was the excellent portrayal of so many of his rogue's gallery as pitiable human beings.

Bruce Timm has done so many awesome things for the DCU.

Camonk - 2009-10-22

They made so many of the villains victims of awful circumstance. There was basically nothing bad about this show. Hell, they managed to make Superman interesting. That's nearly impossible.

Hooper_X - 2009-10-22

The best thing about the Clayface episode was his boyfriend. It's subtle enough that they could be explained as just being friends, but if you actually *watch* the episode, Clayface was obviously in a relationship with the guy.

La Loco - 2009-10-22

My absolute favorite episode, I would jump up and down whenever they repeated it.

robe - 2009-10-22

earlier in the episode, there's a really subtle hint to clayface being homosexual. the writers on this show did some great stuff.

Rev. Blackson Pollock - 2009-10-22

Some of the best voice acting for a cartoon series too.
Ron Perlman
Mark Hamil
Roddy MacDowell
Ed Asner
John Glover
Tim Curry

This show never let me down.

It did always bother me that Batman just happened to have all these face-on promotional stills of all those characters just cued up for playback in the security room, but the amazing animation more than makes up for it.

I miss this show.
