Walt Henderson - 2009-10-29

I think we need a "SPACE!" tag to go along with "POLITICS!" and "SCIENCE!".

RockBolt - 2009-10-29

Done, and added retroactively to some of my submissions

I love when it starts going faster than sound and you can see the shock wave on it.

MC Scared of Bees - 2009-10-29

Raging. Space. Boner.

Thanks, RockBolt.

crotchy - 2009-10-29

Why Ares? I realise most of the more appropriate gods have gone, but it's still just asking for trouble.

RockBolt - 2009-10-30

Ares=Mars, Mars being the ultimate goal for the Constellation program

j lzrd / swift idiot - 2009-10-29

Lies, lies, LIES! - 2009-10-29

Fuck yeah.

OgreMkIV - 2009-10-29

Anyone notice the "bump" after separation? That's gonna be a problem. The solid booster is probably riding the draft of the wider second stage.

RockBolt - 2009-10-29

The lower stage's tumble motors fired fine and spun the booster like planned, but the upper stage wasn't expected to go into a flat spin like that. But one hiccup looks like the booster hit the ocean too hard after one of its chutes deflated-

Didn't get a sense of scale until it started to lift off... At first it looked tiny.

That thing is bloody huge, Saturn V huge (though skinny).
