O Superman...

In other news, what happened to SNL? they also at once had Phillip Glass and Klaus Nomi backing up David Bowie.

Five stars for this since it is fucking brilliant.

He came back, but it was with Tin Machine. Everything else follows from that.

I've always wanted to hit that.

I think it's the dimples.

I wouldn't mind being held in her arms.

Her long arms.
Her automatic arms.

kingarthur - 2009-11-01

Five for you, Harriet. And another five million for Laurie Anderson.

godot - 2009-11-01

Its the ample supply of vaseline in the do (though not especially in this clip.

GeneralJameson - 2009-11-01

This makes me want to drive a DeLorean and do some blow...not in that order.

phalsebob - 2009-11-01

I won't rate it down, since there will be spaz outs, but this is far from Anderson's best.

godot - 2009-11-01

Agreed. But it does show just how conservative SNL booking has become since its first 7-8 years.

baleen - 2009-11-01

I don't know, I think there was just better music then. O Superman was a pretty big hit at the time and Laurie Anderson had signed a 7 album deal with WB, which sort of makes people think you are worthy of being on television.

memedumpster - 2009-11-01

I used to be the hugest Laurie Anderson fan, then I met her.

Now I like Patti Smith.

Michael Houser - 2009-11-02

That was great.
All other blathering is meaningless. And we should all be so lucky to reach a point where we are rated against ourselves.
"Great, but not your best."
