It's nice to see The Kurgan can still get some live action work. It better at least have a Robert Englund cameo.

Time Travel Mishap - 2009-11-04

No cameo. He has said he is all for this movie even though they never even asked him to appear in it.

For once I am truly torn on how to vote on a video. This is just horrible. In so many ways. But i can't decide if its the kind of horrible that deserves stars of awful.

Fuck it. 1 star die and rot in hell Mr. bay.

MongoMcMichael - 2009-11-04

Five for evil or one for horse-shit? Considering the fact that they've stolen all the best kills in the Englund movies and smashed them together in a lump of plagiarism and explosions, I'm going for one.

a flaming monkey - 2009-11-03

They should have just given the old one the Star Wars treatment and inserted enhanced laser effects and Jabba the Hut.

a flaming monkey - 2009-11-03

also needs nu metal soundtrack.

Time Travel Mishap - 2009-11-04

Replace the entire cast with Ewoks.

pressed peanut sweepings - 2009-11-03

When will these godawful horror movie remakes stop being lucrative?

Riskbreaker - 2009-11-03

The day every 13 year old kid is vanished from earth.

garcet71283 - 2009-11-04

No thirteen year olds.... wipe out humanity... working on it.

Bisekrankas - 2009-11-03

Poor Freddy, hes just a victim, he wasnt really evil after all!

Also I bet they will chicken out on the gutting scene in the bedroom and ruin it with some smooth fancy pants cgi crap

Adham Nu'man - 2009-11-04

For all his sins, the Michael Bay produced Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake can't be said to have chickened out on the gore.

Mad Struggle - 2009-11-03

Sounds like Bill Nighy playing Freddy, though that's not the case.

It doesn't look bad, but considering it's Michael Bay...

Dinkin Flicka - 2009-11-03

Agreed. Michael's studies into the complex nature of the human condition, as well as his highly original takes on the old notions of synthetic and analytic content of ideas that show strongly in the all motion pictures he's been involved with previously will really make this piece on the exploration of dreams and nightmares a work that will not only appeal to heady cinematic intellectuals, but probably have mentions in and be cited by all the main journals of western philosophy for decades to come.

Four important stars, Michael.

Meerkat - 2009-11-03

What th -- GOB?

KnowFuture - 2009-11-03

No Robert Englund = fuck this.

Walker - 2009-11-03

Is it just me, or is Jackie Earle Haley doing a Martin Short impersonation at the very beginning there?

Honest Abe - 2009-11-03

i don't know if it's good or bad that he at least seems to have decided to recreate a lot of scenes exactly

joelkazoo - 2009-11-04

I dunno, the idea of Freddy NOT actually being simply an evil child killer, but rather an innocent victim seeking personal vengeance could make for an interesting film in the hands of anyone but Michael Bay. But Bay brings bucketfuls of bucolic bile to everything he touches, so this will be on my miss list.

And the new Freddy makeup SUCKS!

Time Travel Mishap - 2009-11-04

They have said that its not complete. Same with his voice. aparantly its going to be mostly CG. And its not that they haven't finished a CG shot to put in the trailer yet....they have not finished what he is going to look like.

They have a trailer, they have pretty much the whole movie filmed....and they have not yet decided how they want Freddy's face to look. Make of that what you will.

themilkshark - 2009-11-04

Unapologetic Freddy Krueger mark who is hoping to see something at least as bad as Nightmare 2. The gay one.

CornOnTheCabre - 2009-11-04

"In an interview, producer Brad Fuller initially explained that they are following the same line they did with their Friday the 13th remake, by abandoning the things that made the character less scary—the film's antagonist, Freddy Krueger, will not be 'cracking jokes' as had become a staple of his character in later films—and focusing more on trying to craft a 'horrifying movie'."

The worst news.

Seriously, if I ever have children, and one of them is diagnosed with some sort of terminal disease, I still don't think I could summon up as much confused loathing.

themilkshark - 2009-11-04

It kinda sounds like they're trying to make Freddy Krueger scary again, which was the original purpose of the character right? You do realize that this is a revival of a shameless 80's perennial cash cow, not a remake of Citizen Kane right?

I hope Freddy murders an internerd by coming out of a lolcat jpeg and slicing him to bits.

CornOnTheCabre - 2009-11-07

citizen kane's alright, but would've been alot better with the judicious insertion of brutal dream murder followed by sexually explicit puns
