Craptacular.

Riskbreaker - 2009-11-18

Kill kill kill kill.....

Hooker - 2009-11-19

So how are we supposed to rate things like this? It's terrible in every way, so five, but it's also not the slightest bit interesting, so one.

voodoo_pork - 2009-11-19

This film tells two big lies:

1. That adorable, single Natalie Portmans exist.

2. New Jersey is not covered in garbage bags.

THA SUGAH RAIN - 2009-11-19

NJ is actually like a third covered by protected forest land: The Pine Barrens. And the rest is mountains and farmland. Like 10% of NJ is urban. soo... eat a dick.

glasseye - 2009-11-19

Any place where "forest land" = "barrens" might as well be covered in garbage bags.

And there are no mountains in the US east of the rockies, dude.

Aelric - 2009-11-19

except that Appalachians.

glasseye - 2009-11-19

Which are not mountains. They are nubby little hills that used to be mountains.

memedumpster - 2009-11-19

And Dolly Parton, which make the Rockies look like nubby little hills that used to be mountains.

Three for this thread, zero for the movie.

fatatty - 2009-11-19

I liked it. The movie not the trailer.

I guess that makes me a faggot.

oswaldtheluckyrabbit - 2009-11-19

yeah

themilkshark - 2009-11-19

also dumb

Syd Midnight - 2009-11-19

Only reason a man would watch this is because if he's nice he might get to have sex with the person he's watching it with.

tak_a_je_to - 2009-11-19

Jesus Christ, I hated absolutely everything about this stupid goddamned movie.

Its power to engage people whose opinions I once trusted is undeniably evil, however, so...5 stars.

Zach Braff will never not be 5 stars worth of evil. Ugh.

Dinkin Flicka - 2009-11-19

It takes a certain kind of dickhead to write, direct, and star in a movie that they're in every scene of and in every scene they're basically in the center or every frame.

Camonk - 2009-11-19

I liked the movie the first time I saw it. Then later I realized I hated everything about it, especially the stupid Shins soundtrack. The Shins suck, guys. Oh yeah, I don't hate Ian Holm.

themilkshark - 2009-11-19

Not only did I regret paying to see this, but I basically associate Zach Braff's face with a negative opinion now 100% of the time. It's impossible for me to watch anything he's in and enjoy it because of how much I disliked this movie.

Hooker - 2009-11-19

You might be underestimating Zach Braff's contribution to you disliking everything he's in. He's pretty horrible beyond just his face.

Dr Dim - 2009-11-19

Great use of armor at 0:58

teethsalad - 2009-11-19

i hate this loaf of fuck so much

ugh
fuck this goddamned decade

glendower - 2009-11-19

Garden State has become the movie that is cool to hate. It's not as bad as everyone claims.

fatatty - 2009-11-19

Faggot.

Caminante Nocturno - 2009-11-19

You're right.

It's far worse.

Riskbreaker - 2009-11-19

Juno is worse, actually, they're both pretty close in that area. This has been the decade of the hipster american movie.

uekibachi - 2009-11-19

akdfjaoifjasodf i hated this

and queen queen avacado face needed to shut up throughout most of the movie

FIVE EVIL STARS FOR REMINDING ME OF COLLEGE

BHWW - 2009-11-19

This was a truly awful, overhyped piece of garbage. Five stars for the "evil".

Also, Garden State seems to prove my rule of thumb that no movie which features a scene where a man and woman lie fully clothed inside an empty bathtub and have a "heartfelt" talk is any good.

endlesschris - 2009-11-19

I thought it was a cute little hipster set piece until Natalie Portman showed up in a retard helmet and aligator suit and turned it into this wispy trying-to-hard almost love story type thing.

If the whole movie was just Zack Braff and Peter Sarsgard hanging around being kind of whimsically mopey - that could've been great, like a male Ghost World or something. Unfortunately, that's not what we got.

roughnready66 - 2009-11-19

oh come on. the first 20 minutes of Garden State -- until Natalie Portman enters -- is hilarious. Peter Saragard and his mom, the party scene, the Asian restaurant, etc. the rest is too syrupy.

Caminante Nocturno - 2009-11-19

The Sundance people have always struck me as very easily impressed.

splatterbabble - 2009-11-19

Is this why Zach Braff doesn't get to be in movies anymore?

Old People - 2014-12-08

I liked the soundtrack a lot, and there were some trippy visuals, but y'all are right about everything else.
