Jim Carrey was, at that point, a runaway profit fad for mugging around in his super-hyper insane way that people seemed to love with Ace Ventura and The Mask. Was anyone REALLY seeing this for The Riddler? Few. They were going to see Jim Carrey's crazy rubber-man routine.
