Think of the just unbelieveable culture clash here-- in Tl'xutlik culture, it would be completely unimaginable that a kid's show host would dress so provocatively.
True story, my dad wouldn't let me watch Xuxa when I was a kid, because he was convinced that she showed her tits. Considering he spent the entire 18 years living with him worried I was turning out gay, maybe he should have let me.
Nothing is more tragic than a conquered people on a stage with an oblivious pop culture icon trying to sing about them to aggrandize themselves, except maybe an overrated actor also talking about them with music by Philip Glass.
Didn't this come on Family Channel? When I finally got cable as a kid I felt like the Family Channel was such a rip off... This show was horrible, it was so repellent to me as a kid. Really glad to see just how vile it got at times though :P
I remember watching Xuxa once as a kid and seeing a very uncomfortable female American Gladiators performer being ogled by Xuxa. In retrospect that was relatively minor as far as Xuxa related disasters go.
Guh. I'm going to favorite this because this is what this site is for. Xuxa should be poetv's mascot.
