I have no positive memories of Mama's Family - but I do have them of the Carol Burnett Show. Vicki Lawrence could have aimed a lot higher after that show.
No one, in the end, has any positive memories of Mama's Family. On network TV, it was mediocre. Once the show was being produced directly for syndication, it became a hideous, cheap-assed looking eyesore, like every other first-run syndicated sitcom from that era (Small Wonder, Charles in Charge, etc.).
5 stars for "evil" and causing me to think about Mama's Family, which is even more evil.
I was going to say that I enjoyed Mama's Family, but then I watched this and now I doubt those memories. Also, I enjoy: "Hey, you know what would be funny? If there were some black people up to the side and we could make jokes about their being black. Don't you think our target audience will enjoy that!?"
