SR-71 Blackbird's canopy temperature got to over 300c at supersonic. That's air friction at high altitude. What the hell are those wheels made of?

C. Eloi Marx - 2009-12-22 The wheels are probably solid titanium, or at least that's what Noble's new record car 'Bloodhound SSC' is going to have.
|
Ashenblade - 2009-12-22 To be fair, the Blackbird was going quite a bit quite faster than just supersonic.
|
|
HP Lovesauce - 2009-12-23 True, I think the Blackbird's top speed was about Mach 3.5. Still, the thought of any sort of mechanical resistance at Mach anything is mind buggly.

SolRo - 2015-01-11 They were solid metal as well, I don't know which kind though.
I think all speed record vehicles probably have metal wheels. Rubber just wears out too quickly at high speed.

Dildos would be my guess.

THA SUGAH RAIN - 2009-12-22 The tires I mean, the tires are made of dildos.

It's a very loose definition of a "car".
