Almost certainly: divorce was a shocking and almost blasphemous thing back in the day, and one of the less-hailed victories of the Culture Wars is the general acceptance that divorce is better than loveless and doomed marriage for the rest of one's life.
I know someone who couldn't find places to live because she had divorced her husband back around 1970; potential landlords even told her she was a wicked person for divorcing. Like I say, a less-hailed victory, perhaps because even those on the other side of the Culture War are glad to have the option of getting divorced (and can't hide it like they could an abortion).
Jeez, aren't you old enough to remember when all the churchies were all het up about the Computer Menace? I mean, Ataris were illegal in a couple of Southern states well into the mid-80s.
For the avertisement to be really compelling thay should have shown the mountains of data conclusively proving that christian divorce rates are lower. That would really be a splinter in the eye of those non-christians!
The license-bot playing the Wedding March reminds me of this ATM they had at the Newport Folk Festival one year that screeched "We're in the Money" and shot your money out three feet in the air like a cartoon slot machine.
